The present invention has a technical solution which achieves improvement of a withstanding voltage characteristic needed for diameter reduction of a cable in an insulating cable, thereby providing an insulating cable suitable for sliding. The technical problem may be solved by an insulating cable comprising a conductor and an insulator configured by a plurality of resin layers on the conductor, wherein the plurality of resin layers contain the same kind of fluorine resin, a difference in refractive index between a resin layer having the largest refractive index and a resin layer having the smallest refractive index among the plurality of resin layers is 0.03 or less, a layer thickness of an outermost resin layer of the insulator is 0.03 mm or less, and a deviation (coefficient of variation CV) in thickness of the insulator in a cross-section perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the cable is 0.035 or less.

Insulated Electric Conductor

An insulated electric conductor includes a flat or round wire made of one or more electrically conductive materials, the flat or round wire having an exterior surface that is free of an oxide layer; and an insulating layer adhering directly to the oxide-layer-free exterior surface to form a coating around the oxide-layer-free exterior surface, the insulating layer being made of at least one thermoplastic material which provides electrical insulation. The flat or round wire is designed to conduct an electrical current.

A cable includes a first copper conductor and a second copper conductor, and an insulation layer. The insulation layer is formed from a first polymer material, and is a single layer surrounding the first copper conductor and the second copper conductor. A discontinuity formed from a second polymer material is located within the insulation layer, between the first copper conductor and the second copper conductor. The discontinuity provides a weakness within the insulation layer. A jacket surrounds the insulation layer and is made of a third polymer material. A fiber optic ribbon may be located in the cable.
