COATED ELECTRIC CABLE SEALING COMPOSITION, AND METHOD FOR SEALING COATED ELECTRIC CABLE
A sealing composition and a sealing method for a coated electric cable have excellent sealing performance even under conditions such as cooling-heating cycles or high temperature and humidity. The coated electric cable sealing composition is for sealing a core wires connection section formed by electrically connecting multiple core wires exposed from multiple coated electric wires, and features having a hardening time of 10 minutes or less at 130° C., and permeating to inside of the coated electric wires at a height of 5 mm or more at the time point of hardening while the exposed parts of the core wires including the core wires connection section and the boundary part between the coated parts and the exposed parts of the core wires are immersed perpendicularly in the coated electric cable sealing composition filled in a resin cap and the sealing composition is heated to be cured.
DEVICE FOR MODIFYING A LINEAR SUBSTRATE
An apparatus and method for modifying an aspect of an exterior polymer material or polymer type material of a linear substrate with a fluid. The apparatus include a variable exposure gap within which the linear substrate is exposed to the fluid. The width of the exposure gap is varied with the speed of the linear substrate traversing the exposure gap to maintain a constant exposure time of the linear substrate with the modifying fluid.
COATING A WORKING WIRE FOR A CONTINUOUS BIOLOGICAL SENSOR
Methods for coating a working wire for a continuous biological sensor include providing a plurality of wires in a fixture and dipping the plurality of wires into a coating solution according to parameters for a dipping process. A plurality of diameters is measured along a length of at least two coated wires of the plurality of wires in the fixture, using an automated measurement system, as in an in-line process. A controller that is in communication with the automated measurement system determines a thickness difference, the thickness difference being a difference between a thickness setpoint and an aggregate criteria for the plurality of diameters. The controller calculates adjusted parameters for the dipping process based on the thickness difference.

LINEAR SUBSTRATE INFUSION COMPARTMENT
A process of applying a fluid containing one or more additives to a surface of a linear substrate in a linear compartment. The process includes passing the linear substrate through first and second seals of the linear compartment, contacting the linear substrate with the fluid within a chamber within the linear compartment while an exposure gap has a first length that is greater than zero, the contacting being conducted for a time with the fluid at a temperature. The linear compartment is dimensionally reconfigurable, optionally during an infusion process.
Linear substrate processing compartment
Provided are apparatuses for the processing of one or more components of a fluid into the surface of a linear substrate. The apparatuses include a processing barrel having a chamber defined therein as well as a linear substrate inlet and a linear substrate outlet. The processing barrel also includes a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet in fluid communication with the chamber. An exposure gap is defined between the linear substrate inlet and the linear substrate outlet. The chamber is dimensionally reconfigurable so that the exposure gap can have a length from zero to greater than zero.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WIRELINE CABLE COATING
A cable coater system for a downhole tool includes a cable coater. The cable coater may include a housing and one or more rollers that are coupled to the housing, wherein the one or more rollers are configured to rest on the downhole cable while guiding the cable through openings in the cable coater during wireline operations. The cable coater may remain on cable during all spooling (on and off) activities for the duration of operations and activated to coat the cable upon the final pull out of hole and prior to storage of the cable. The spooling in and out of the cable may further be automatically controlled by providing a positional indicator of the cable coater and thus where the cable is in three-dimensional space relative the spool.
COLORED WIRE OR CABLE AND METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COLORING WIRE OR CABLE
A process for coloring post-production cables or coloring cables in an in-line manufacturing process can include coloring a polymer coated conductive cable or wire using a colorant solution. In one example, the wire can be passed through a trough, bath or spray of the colorant solution. In one example, the colorant can have a transparent characteristic to it in order to allow the printing on the cable to show through the colorant applied to the cable.
