Cable hose with embedded features

A cable hose suitable for welding or cutting systems includes one or more conductors and monolithic tubing that extends around and between the one or more conductors. The monolithic tubing defines one or more discrete passageways for the one or more conductors that provide a closed path from a first end of the cable hose to a second end of the cable hose for the one or more conductors. The monolithic tubing also defines an inner conduit configured to allow a gas to flow from the first end of the cable hose to the second end of the cable hose. The cable hose may be formed by arranging the one or more conductors in a specific configuration and overmolding an insulator onto the one or more conductors to secure the one or more conductors in a specific configuration.

SOLID WIRE FOR ARC WELDING USE

An arc welding solid wire includes: a steel material; and a copper plating layer formed on a surface of the steel material, in which an amount of Cu in the steel material and the copper plating layer is 0.05 mass % to 0.30 mass % with respect to a total mass of the wire, a surface of the wire is coated with 0.05 g to 0.20 g of oil with respect to 1 kg of the wire, and on a surface of the copper plating layer, an arithmetic average roughness Rac in a circumferential direction is 0.25 .Math.m to 1.00 .Math.m, and an arithmetic average roughness Ral in a longitudinal direction is 0.07 .Math.m to 0.50 .Math.m.

Apparatus, systems, and methods for increasing the lifespan of welding cable covers

Apparatus, systems, and methods for increasing the lifespan of welding cable covers are described. In some examples, a cable cover is wrapped around a welding cable to protect the welding cable from hazards of the welding environment. Complementary fasteners attached to the cable cover are fastened together to hold the cable cover in place around the welding cable. The fasteners are arranged and the cable cover is wrapped such that a protective region of the cable cover overlaps with the fasteners, shielding vulnerable stitching used to attach the fasteners to the cable cover. This added protection may prolong the time that fasteners remain attached to a cable cover, thereby prolonging the usable life of the cable cover, and/or prolonging the life of the welding cable(s) protected by the cable cover.

An electronic device, and a magnetic energy harvesting device and method of harvesting magnetic energy, for electric metallurgical furnaces and similar environments. The device comprises a conductor which is configured to become induced with electricity in response to a time-varying magnetic field. The field may be irregular, such as near a metallurgical furnace or a similar environment. The electronic device may be a transmitter in a metallurgical electric furnace. The transmitter may be connected to an environment sensor. The electronic device may be powered by the magnetic energy harvesting device. The magnetic energy harvesting device may a wire loop or a coil. The method comprises inductively harvesting energy from magnetic field fluctuations caused by a metallurgical furnace or a similar environment to wirelessly power the electronic device.

Semi-conductive composition for power cable

Provided is a semi-conductive composition for a power cable, more particularly, a semi-conductive composition for a power cable having excellent mechanical properties and electrical properties, and more specifically, a semi-conductive composition for a power cable capable of having improved scorch stability, improved surface smoothness, improved space charge accumulation suppression characteristic to thereby be applicable to an ultra-high voltage direct current power cable.

Cable hose with conductive electromagnetic interference shield

A cable hose suitable for welding or cutting systems includes tubing, one or more conductors, and an annular electromagnetic interference (EMI) shield. The EMI shield is disposed radially interiorly of at least a portion of the tubing and radially exteriorly of the one or more conductors. Thus, the EMI shield: (1) prevents EMI emanating from the one or more conductors from exiting the cable hose radially; and (2) conducts current between components of a welding or cutting system.

Cable for arc welder

An arc welder cable includes a resiliently flexible hose, an intermediate sheath, a plurality of conductors, and an outer sheath. The hose defines an axial passageway configured to permit passage of a welding wire and a shielding gas therethrough. The intermediate sheath circumscribes the hose such that the hose is disposed radially within the intermediate sheath. The intermediate sheath is made from an electrically-insulative material and is in sealing contact with an outer surface of the hose. The conductors are disposed circumferentially about the intermediate sheath and disposed radially outward of the intermediate sheath. The conductors extend along the intermediate sheath in a helical manner. The conductors are made from an electrically-conductive material. The outer sheath is made from an electrically-insulative material and circumscribes the conductors such that the conductors, the intermediate sheath, and the hose are disposed radially within the outer sheath.
