A braided part connection structure includes a conductive braid and a conductive member electrically connected and fixed to the braid and made of a conductive plate material. The conductive member includes a braid joining portion. The braid joining portion includes, at a part of the conductive member in a longitudinal direction of the conductive member, a plurality of openings formed at intervals with each other along a direction intersecting the longitudinal direction and a welded portion defined by two adjacent openings of the plurality of openings. The braid joining portion is provided on the braid in an overlapping manner and the welded portion is laser-welded onto the braid.

Devices and methods for connecting to a metallic shield of a cable

The present disclosure describes various devices and methods for the reconstruction or restoration of a metallic shield of a cable, which provide a holding feature for simplifying the installation of an electrically-conductive member on the metallic shield and improving the reliability of the connection. Both factory-supplied and field-installable holding features are described.

WIRE HARNESS

A wire harness including: a plurality of core wires; a tubular electromagnetic shield enclosing an outer circumference of the plurality of core wires; and an insulating sheath in which the plurality of core wires and the electromagnetic shield are collectively embedded, wherein the insulating sheath includes: a first covering that is filled between the plurality of core wires and the electromagnetic shield, that covers an outer circumferential surface of the plurality of core wires in intimate contact therewith, and that covers an inner circumferential surface of the electromagnetic shield in intimate contact therewith; and a second covering that covers an outer circumferential surface of the electromagnetic shield in intimate contact therewith.

Multicore cable

A multicore cable is composed of a bunched core composed of a plurality of electric wires laid together, each including a conductor, and an electrical insulating member provided over a periphery of the conductor, an abrasion suppressing layer configured as a taping member helically wrapped around a periphery of the bunched core, a shielding layer composed of a braided shield provided over an outer periphery of the abrasion suppressing layer, and a sheath provided over a periphery of the shielding layer. An opposite surface of the taping member constituting the abrasion suppressing layer to the bunched core and an opposite surface of the taping member constituting the abrasion suppressing layer to the shielding layer are composed of a fluoropolymer resin. The taping member constituting the abrasion suppressing layer is non-adhesively lap wound in such a manner as to partially overlap itself in a width direction thereof.

WIRE HARNESS

A wire harness including: a plurality of shielded conductive paths including a plurality of wire bundles composed of a plurality of wires, and a plurality of shields that are composed of braided wires in which electrically conductive wires are braided into tubular shapes, and that individually encase the plurality of wire bundles; and a connector into which the plurality of shielded conductive paths are inserted, the connector being configured to be attached to a housing of a device, wherein the shields include tubular bodies that encase the wire bundles, and separated portions that extend separated from the wire bundles at portions of the bodies on terminal end sides of the wire bundles with respect to the connector, and the separated portions of the plurality of shields are grouped together.

Shielding layer and a cable provides with the shielding layer

A cable includes a plurality of wires, an wrapping tape covering the outside of the wires, a shielding layer coated on the outside of the wrapping tape and an insulating cover coated on the outside of the shielding layer, the shielding layer includes a plurality of conductors, wherein the shielding layer includes fibers mixed with the conductors.

Electromagnetic shield member, and wire harness

An electromagnetic shield member includes an electrically conductive shield pipe, a braided member obtained by braiding metal strands into a tubular shape, and a first coupling member that is ring-shaped and arranged on the outer circumferential surface of a portion of the braided member that has been fitted around the shield pipe. The first coupling member is configured to couple the braided member to the shield pipe by constricting the braided member circumferentially inward, and is made of a different type of metal from the braided member. Also, an insulating film is provided on the inner circumferential surface of the first coupling member.
