A semiconductor resistance device includes a polysilicon resistance region; a first contact region in the resistance region, the first contact region having the same conductivity type as the resistance region and having a higher impurity concentration than the resistance region; a first wiring electrically connected to one end of the resistance region via a plurality of first vias; and a second wiring electrically connected to the other end of the resistance region via a plurality of second vias. At least one of the plurality of first vias and the plurality of second vias is in contact with the first contact region so as to form a low resistance contact structure, and at least another one of the plurality of first vias and the plurality of second vias forms a high resistance contact structure that has a contact resistance higher than a contact resistance of the low resistance contact structure.

A ceramic electronic component includes a ceramic body, baked external electrodes, and plated external electrodes, and glass layers derived from a glass material included in a conductive paste of the baked external electrodes, are provided at interfaces between the baked external electrodes and the ceramic body, such that the glass layers extend from the interfaces between the ceramic body and the baked external electrodes to a surface of the ceramic body that does not contain the baked external electrodes.

PTC heating element and an electric heating device

A PTC heating element has two insulating layers with a metallic coating provided on one side and a PTC element arranged therebetween. The PTC element is provided on oppositely disposed main side surfaces with a respective metallization which is electrically conductively connected to the coating of one of the insulating layers The metallization provided on one of the main side surfaces is assigned only to one potential for energizing the PTC element, and the metallization provided on the other of the main side surfaces is only assigned to the other potential for energizing the PTC element, as well as an electric heating device containing such a PTC heating element. With regard to better heat decoupling, the insulating layer may be glued to the PTC element, and the coating of the insulating layers is in direct electrically conductive contact with the metallization of the PTC element.

An electronic component in which a metal layer is unlikely to be peeled from a substrate includes an insulating ceramic substrate, a ceramic layer diffusion-bonded to the substrate, a metal layer including a first principal surface and a second principal surface opposed to the first principal surface, with the first principal surface diffusion-bonded to the ceramic layer, and a characteristic layer diffusion-bonded to the second principal surface of the metal layer and prepared from a ceramic material, wherein the characteristic layer varies in resistance value with respect to ambient temperature or applied voltage.

Over-current protection device

An over-current protection device includes first and second electrodes and a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) multilayered structure disposed between the first and second electrodes. The PTC multilayered structure includes a first polymer layer that is bonded to the first electrode, an intermediate layered unit that is bonded to said first polymer layer and that includes a second polymer layer, a third polymer layer that is bonded to and disposed between the intermediate layered unit and the second electrode. The first, second and third polymer layers respectively have first, second and third volume resistances, the second volume resistance being higher than the first and third volume resistances.

A PPTC over-current protection device includes: a first PPTC component that has a first metal foil layer and a first PTC element including a first polymer matrix, the first metal foil layer being bonded to the first polymer matrix; and a second PPTC component that has a second metal foil layer and a second PTC element including a second polymer matrix. The second metal foil layer is bonded to the second polymer matrix. The first and second PPTC components are stacked one above the other and are bonded to each other to form a stack with the first and second polymer matrices being bonded to each other by interfusion-bonding.

A temperature sensor includes a substrate, a platinum resistor arranged on at least one surface of the substrate, a protective layer covering at least a portion of the platinum resistor and a cover layer covering at least a portion of the protective layer, the cover layer including Al2O3, SiO2 and Y2O3. The cover layer may also include B2O3. A conductive wire may be electrically connected to the platinum resistor. A glass ceramic may be covering at least a portion of the conductive wire, platinum resistor, protective layer and cover layer.
