The core includes a column portion that is vertically provided with respect to a surface where the core is in contact with the support member. The fixing member presses the column portion of the core against the support member. The support member has a recess in a portion of a facing surface that faces the core, where the portion of a facing surface does not face the column portion.

An induction charging device for an electrically operated motor vehicle may include at least one charging assembly. The at least one charging assembly may include a charging coil, a ferrite assembly, a metal shielding plate, and a temperature-control assembly through which a fluid is flowable. The charging coil may be inductively couplable to a primary coil such that a motor vehicle battery is inductively chargeable. The ferrite assembly may include a plurality of rotatable ferrite plates arranged next to one another. When in a closed position, a respective ferrite plate may be arranged parallel to the charging coil and may shield the metal shielding plate from the charging coil. When in an open position, the respective ferrite plate may be arranged at an angle relative to the charging coil and may partially shield the metal shielding plate from the charging coil.

Thermal management of inductor on a cold plate

A cold plate and a method of manufacturing a cold plate involve a first side with a first surface, and a second side, opposite the first side, with a second surface opposite the first surface. The cold plate includes a flow channel formed between the first side and the second side, and a cavity integrally machined into the first surface of the first side. The cavity seats an inductor and is defined by an outer wall and a base with thicker sections and thinner sections such that even the thicker sections of the base are thinner than a thickness of the first surface.

An electromagnetic component assembly includes a first magnetic core piece, a second magnetic core piece, and an inverted U-shaped conductive winding including a base section and first and second legs extending from base section. One of the first and second magnetic core pieces is configured to receive the base section. The first and second magnetic core pieces are gapped from one another to define a first gap, and one of the first and second magnetic core pieces includes a second gap that, in combination with the first gap, allows the component to be operated at more than one stable open circuit inductance (OCL) corresponding to different current loads.

Reactor

A reactor includes a coil having a winding portion, and a magnetic core including a core piece having an inner core portion disposed inside the winding portion. The core piece is a compact made of a composite material that contains a magnetic powder and a resin. The reactor further includes: a first projection that is integrated with and projects from an outer peripheral face of the inner core portion, and comes into contact with an inner peripheral face of the winding portion so as to position the winding portion in a diameter direction of the winding portion, and a second projection that is integrated with and projects from the core piece at a position opposing an end face of the winding portion, and comes into contact with the end face of the winding portion so as to position the winding portion in an axial direction thereof.

There is provided a static induction electric apparatus capable of improving smoothnesses of magnetic flux distributions inside iron cores. A stationary induction electric apparatus including wound iron cores and a winding, wherein each of the wound iron cores is a laminated body of magnetic materials that are lap-joined and at least provided with a step lap joint portion on an inner peripheral side of the wound iron core, and gap distances between ends of the step lap joint potion are gradually shortened toward an outer peripheral side of the wound iron core. Although a configuration of the stationary induction electric apparatus is simple, the stationary induction electric apparatus having improved smoothnesses of magnetic flux distributions inside the iron cores can be provided.

An electrical appliance for connecting to a high voltage includes an active part, which is provided with a magnetizable core and at least two winding assemblies, each surrounding a core section of the core and having windings that are inductively coupled to one another. The active part is entirely arranged a tank, which can be filled with an insulating fluid. The tank has two end casings and a central part arranged between the end casings. The electrical appliance is compact and has a low tare weight. The central part forms a hollow body for each winding assembly, through which a respective one of the core sections extends, which is surrounded by an associated winding assembly. The hollow bodies are connected to one another on the inside and only via the internal volume of the end casings.

Lamination stack for an ignition system

In at least some implementations, a lamination stack includes a plurality of plates coupled together, each plate including at least one leg that collectively define a leg of the stack, with the leg of the stack arranged so that a wire coil may be arranged on the leg of the stack, and wherein the leg of the stack includes a location feature arranged to facilitate location of the stack relative to an adjacent component. In at least some implementations, the location feature may be integrally formed with at least one of the plates, and may be defined by a projection extending from a free end of at least one leg of the stack.
