NONLINEAR INDUCTOR, MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF, AND NONLINEAR INDUCTOR ROW
Disclosed is a nonlinear inductor, a manufacturing method thereof, and a nonlinear inductor row. The nonlinear inductor includes two magnetic core assemblies, a conductor and a magnetic plastic encapsulation layer; the magnetic core assemblies include magnetic cores; each magnetic core includes a flange and a central column arranged on the flange; two central columns of the two magnetic core assemblies are opposite to each other; a non-uniform air gap exists between the two central columns and/or the magnetic core assemblies are made of different materials; the conductor is arranged on the two central columns; the two magnetic core assemblies and the conductor are located in the magnetic plastic encapsulation layer; electrode parts of the conductor are exposed outside the magnetic plastic encapsulation layer; and the magnetic core assemblies and the magnetic plastic encapsulation layer are made of different materials; thereby the nonlinear inductor has stepped saturation characteristics.
Coil device with predetermined gap arrangement
A coil device includes a core and a plurality of coils arranged in the core. A distance of a second gap formed by portions of the core located inside at least one of the coils is larger than that of a first gap formed by other portions of the core located between the coils next to each other.
SINGLE PHASE SURFACE MOUNT SWING INDUCTOR COMPONENT AND METHODS OF FABRICATION
An inductor component includes a single conductive coil configured to establish surface mount connections with a circuit board. A magnetic core structure receives and encloses first and second legs of the single conductive coil, and first and second physical gaps are respectively formed in the magnetic core structure and are located to respectively intersect a flux path generated by current flow in only one of the elongated first or second legs. By virtue of the pair of physical gaps the inductor component operates as a swing-type inductor component with multiple steps of inductance roll off.
Power inductor with variable width air gap
A power inductor includes a housing and a magnetic core disposed in the housing. The core includes a first segment and a second segment spaced apart from each other to define a gap. The first and second segments are supported in the housing such that the they are movable relative to each other to increase and decrease the size of the gap. A fluid having a positive thermal expansion coefficient is disposed in the housing such that expansion and contraction of the fluid due to change in temperature increases and decreases the gap, respectively.
Directional coupler
The embodiments relate to a directional coupler including, in each case, one connection for a first, a second, a third, and a fourth port. The coupler includes a first coupling network for providing the connection for the first port and a second coupling network for providing the connection for the second port. The first and second coupling networks are both connected to the connections for the third and fourth ports, wherein the second coupling network has a first inductance connected between the third port and an electrical reference potential, a first capacitance connected between the fourth port and the electrical reference potential, a second capacitance connected between the third port and the second port, and a second inductance connected between the fourth port and the second port.
SINGLE CORE CROSS-COUPLED MULTI-PHASE INDUCTOR
A cross-coupled multi-phase inductor that includes a single core and pairs of adjacent windings wound on the single core. Each member of an adjacent pair includes a first sub-winding and a second sub-winding which extends from the first sub-winding and each member is cross-coupled with the other member of the pair such that the first and second sub-windings of each member of the adjacent pair are disposed diametrically opposite or substantially diametrically opposite each other on the single core. This results in reducing core losses and increasing power conversion efficiency of the cross coupled multi-phase inductor.
Inductors with magnetic core parts of different materials
An inductor has one or more wires and a multipart magnetic core. The multipart magnetic core has magnetic core parts that are adjacent and magnetically coupled. The inductor provides an inductance of at least 40 nH for currents greater than 1 A and less than 60 A, and at least 20 nH for currents of at least 60 A.
PULSE POWER MODULE
To reduce the size of a magnetic circuit to be provided in a pulse power module for applying a high voltage in the form of a pulse across a pair of discharge electrodes which are disposed in a laser chamber of a gas laser apparatus, the magnetic circuit may include a magnetic core, an insulation member configured to contain a refrigerant flow path therein and cover the periphery of the magnetic core, and a winding wound around the insulation member.
Lighting control circuit, lighting installation and method
The present invention discloses a lighting installation having an LED lamp (19), normally consisting of a series string of individual LED's (18), which is supplied by a rectifier (20, 200). A control circuit (23, 23 & C1) is interposed between the rectifier and the AC supply which powers the rectifier. Various circuits for filtering, power factor control, multi-phase operation and dimming, for example by phase switching, are disclosed. In particular, the control carried out by the control circuit takes place on the AC side of the rectifier. Also disclosed are the control circuit per se and a method of converting a High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamp installation into a Light Emitting Diode (LED) installation. The control circuit can take the form of an inductor, an inductor and series capacitor, a shunt inductor, a leakage reactance transformer, a constant current transformer, an autotransformer, an isolation transformer or a ferro-resonant transformer.
Segmented winding techniques for a coupled inductor circuit
Techniques are provided for segmented windings of a coupled inductor within a DC-DC voltage converter or regulator. In an example, a coupled inductor circuit can include a first winding comprising a conductive coil having a central axis, and a second winding configured to magnetically couple with the first winding. The second winding can have a plurality of individual segments. Each individual segment can form a fraction of one turn of the second winding. Each segment can include a first conductor, a ground conductor, and a first switch to selectively couple, and selectively isolate, the first conductor and the ground conductor.
