To realize both toughness and size reduction of a safety switch. A safety switch is a safety switch into and from which a bolt of an actuator is inserted and pulled out. The safety switch includes a casing having a shape elongated along a first direction, a metal head having a receiving space for receiving the bolt of the actuator and provided on a first end side of the casing in the first direction, a detector for detecting a first state in which the bolt is received in the receiving space, a lock mechanism, a switching device and a first attachment portion provided in the head and having a first attachment hole into which a first attachment member is inserted.

Guard locking switch with three concurrent directions of approach

An industrial locking switch comprises multiple locking tongue entry slots formed on adjacent sides of the locking switch housing, thereby supporting receipt of the corresponding locking tongue from multiple directions of approach without the need to mechanically modify the switch's head or to reorient the switch itself. The locking switch houses locking bolt detection circuity comprising multiple series connected RFID coils configured to detect an RFID tag mounted on the locking tongue when the locking tongue is inserted into any of the entry slots.

The invention relates to a safety switch assembly (100) having a switch installation (120) having at least one switching member (12) and at least one actuation installation (110) having at least one assigned actuator (13, 13′, 13″, 14), wherein a transmission installation (130) having at least one transmission member (135) which is coupleable or coupled to the switching member (12, 12a), on the one hand, and to the at least one actuator (13, 13′, 13″, 14), on the other hand is provided between the actuation installation (110) and the switch installation (120). In order to have available a safety switch assembly (100) in which a mechanical fault does not lead to a failure of that functionality that optionally permits the integration of a diagnostic function in order for the system in the case of a fault being detected to be able to be brought back to a safe state and that permits a transfer of mechanical as well as of electrical/electronic functions across the entire system, it is provided that the transmission installation (120) is provided with a plurality of separate transmission members (135) which in the actuation of the at least one actuator (13, 13′, 13″, 14) of the actuation installation (110) are drivable or driven in a synchronous and mutually independent manner, and that each of the transmission members (135) by way of a rotary movement is permitted to convert an actuation movement of the at least one actuator (13, 13′, 13″, 14) to a translatory movement of in each case one separate switching member (12, 12a) of the switch installation (120). (FIG. 4).

Quick-action orthogonal motion conversion mechanism with direct-acting return feature

An escape release mechanism that serves as a supplementary means for unlocking a solenoid-driven locking switch. The escape release mechanism comprises a knobbed escape release switch that can be pressed by an operator from inside a protected industrial area to override the solenoid-driven lock. In response to a single-direction linear movement of the escape release key, a pin extends from the escape release mechanism in a direction orthogonal to the escape release key's linear movement. This forward movement causes the pin to displace the locking bolt of the locking switch. As the single-direction linear movement of the escape release key continues, the pin retracts from the locking switch out of the path of the locking tongue, allowing the tongue to be removed. In this way, the pin is both extended and retracted in response to a single-direction linear action by the operator.

A cam of a safety switch rotates about a rotational shaft in accordance with an operation of inserting an actuator into an opening and an operation of withdrawing the actuator. A switch part includes an operation rod that reciprocates according to a rotation angle of the cam, and detects an insertion state where the actuator is inserted in the opening. In the insertion state, a locking member locks the actuator upon engagement with a part of the cam. When the operation of withdrawing the actuator is performed in a locked state of the actuator, the cam pushes the locking member in one direction, and the locking member pushes a part of a head case in the one direction. This improves locking strength of the safety switch.
