This protective element includes a fusible conductor (1a), three or more electrodes (2a), (2b), (2c) electrically connected to each other via the fusible conductor (1a), and a heating element configured to heat and fuse the fusible conductor (1a).

Fuse array for vehicle electrical system having multiple discrete circuits

A fuse array for use in a vehicle electrical system having more than one battery, such as in a start-stop vehicle that automatically shuts off an engine when the vehicle comes to a stop and automatically restarts the engine when a driver starts driving again. The fuse array includes first and second discrete circuits, where the discrete circuits include their own internal bus bars and are electrically isolated from one another, even though they are part of the same fuse array. This enables the fuse array to independently provide battery power to different downstream electrical components, such as a power distribution device and various high amperage components, while still utilizing a single compact assembly.

A complex type fusible link which includes an insulative block base including a plurality of cavities; a conductive connecting plate which is integrally embedded in the insulative block base, a part of the conductive connecting plate being exposed to at least one of the cavities; a plurality of fusible elements each of which is accommodated in corresponding one of the cavities and includes a first end which is connected to the part of the conductive connecting plate and a second end; and a plurality of terminals each of which is integrally embedded in the insulative block base and includes a first end which is connected to the second end of corresponding one of the fusible elements and a second end which is exposed from the insulative block base, at least one of the fusible elements includes a fastening portion to which another fusible element is fastened.

Protection device and circuit protection apparatus containing the same

A protection device comprises a substrate, a fusible element and a heating element. The substrate comprises a first electrode and a second electrode on its surface. The fusible element is disposed on the substrate and connects to the first electrode and the second electrode at two ends. The fusible element comprises a first metal layer and a second metal layer disposed on the first metal layer. The second metal layer has a lower melting point than that of the first metal layer. The heating element is disposed on the substrate. In the event of over-voltage or over-temperature, the heating element heats up to melt and blow the fusible element. The second metal layer is 40-95% of the fusible element in thickness.
