The pusher of the operation button passes through the through hole toward the switch unit, and the end of the waterproof packing member is pressed against the switch unit to fixedly hold the switch unit inside the housing recess.
APPARATUS FOR OPERATING A ROTARY SWITCH
An rotary switch operating apparatus has a drive shaft and a first and a second drive element, the first drive element having a rotationally fixed coupling to the drive shaft, and the second drive element being rotatably mounted on the first drive element. The apparatus includes a spring coupling the first and the second drive element together with a spring action, a lock limiting rotational movements of the second drive element in a first rotation direction and a second rotation direction, opposite the first, and a releaser for canceling rotational movement limitation of the second drive element in pre-specified rotation positions of the first drive element. Latches bearing against the drive elements' guide sections are provided, the first drive element guide section having release sections as releasers and the second drive element guide section having two latch stops as locks. The latches can both lock and release the spring-operated movement of the second drive element.
Button features of an electronic device
Systems and methods for forming button assemblies for electronic devices are disclosed. According to some embodiments, the button assemblies include one or more sound improvement features to improve the sound that the button assemblies make when pressed by users of the electronic devices. According to some embodiments, the button assemblies include shims that provide proper alignment of the various components of the button assemblies and to accommodate any tolerance stack up of the various components of the button assemblies. The shims can include alignment features to prevent the shims from shifting within the button assemblies. According to some embodiments, thicknesses of the shims are customized to accommodate varying tolerance stack ups of the components of the button assemblies. In some embodiments, the button assemblies include a combination of sound improvement features and shims.
