KEY DEVICE
The disclosure provides a key device including a housing, a soft material layer, and a key component. The housing has at least one first assembly hole. The soft material layer is disposed on the housing and has at least one second assembly hole. The key component includes at least one key body and an elastic frame. The key body is exposed to the housing through the second assembly hole and the first assembly hole correspondingly. The elastic frame is connected with the key body and squeezes the soft material layer. The key device of the disclosure has waterproof and dustproof functions and may effectively reduce the cost.
Combined fingerprint reader/power button system
A fingerprint reader/power button system includes a base member defining base leg apertures extending into the base member. A spring member engages the base member to provide a spring force that is directed away from the base member. Spring legs on the spring member define respective spring leg apertures that are located adjacent respective base leg apertures. A support member engages the spring member and includes support legs that are configured to extend through the spring leg apertures and into the base leg apertures. A power actuator element connected to the support member is configured to engage a power actuator engagement element when an actuation force on the support member overcomes the spring force. A fingerprint reader connected to the support member is configured to read a fingerprint from a finger that engages a fingerprint reader surface on the fingerprint reader.

PRESSING DEVICE
A pressing device includes a base board, an upper board unit that is disposed over the base board, and an intermediate unit that is disposed between the base board and the upper board unit. The upper board unit includes a panel, a circuit board, and a tact switch. The intermediate unit includes a middle portion that corresponds in position to the tact switch, a surrounding frame member, and a plurality of interconnecting board members. When the upper board unit is pressed, at least one of the interconnecting board members is deformed, and the middle portion is driven to convert the tact switch from an initial state to a triggered state.

Keyswitch mechanism with horizontal motion return mechanism
Described herein are thin keyboard and thin keyboard overlay, as well as novel key assembly for uses on keyboards and keyswitches. The key assembly includes a top plate, a movable keycap, a support plate and flexible rods embedded in the support plate acting as springs. The underside of the movable keycap has at least one or several tapered protrusions which are located above the flexible rods. A vertical downward force on the movable keycap will enable the protrusion to flex the rods horizontally, thus creating a spring like mechanism that will return the movable keycap to its original position once the vertical force is removed.
Input device with overlapping key structure
An input device having an overlapping key structure includes a plurality of keys, each of the plurality of keys configured to actuate a respective key switch in response to an applied mechanical force; and a key support frame, where each of the plurality of keys includes a spring arm portion coupled to the key support frame at a first end of the each of the plurality of keys such that the each of the plurality of keys deflects through a range of motion in response to the applied mechanical force, and each of the plurality of keys overlaps with another one of the plurality of keys such that each of the plurality of keys is included in an envelope of a two-dimensional cross section of the range of motion of another one of the plurality of keys when viewed from a direction perpendicular to the two-dimensional cross section.
