CONDUCTOR LATCH FOR IN-LINE DISCONNECT SWITCH
An in-line power disconnect assembly for electrical power distribution systems is provided. The in-line power disconnect assembly includes a first end section, a second end section, at least one insulator positioned between the first end section and the second end section, and a switch assembly positioned between the first end section and the second end section. Each of the first and second end sections include a conductor clamp that can be rotated or twisted relative to a longitudinal axis of the first or second end section between a clamping position and an open position.
LOAD BREAK TOOL HAVING ROTATIONAL FLEXIBILITY
A load break tool is disclosed. The load break tool includes a main housing; a sleeve having a first end and a second end coaxially mounted in the main housing and slidable between a retracted position and an extended position, wherein the second end of the sleeve remains in the main housing in the extended position; a clip assembly connected to the main housing for engaging a pull ring of a circuit isolating device; and a hook engaging terminal rotatably connected to the first end of the sleeve, such that the hook engaging terminal rotates relative to the clip assembly.
External switch coupler for pad-mounted transformers
An external switch coupler includes: a guide tube having a first end and a second end, the first end configured to be attached to a door of a compartment in substantial alignment with both a hole in the door and a switch coupler within the compartment, and the second end configured to be disposed within an interior of the compartment and separated from the switch coupler by a gap when the door is closed; a coupling shaft configured to be operably placed within the guide tube, the coupling shaft having an electrically insulative member disposed between an coupler side adapter and a switch side adapter, and a length equal to or greater than a distance between the switch coupler and the hole in the door when the door is closed.
Recloser battery assembly
A circuit interrupting device for use with a electrical power distribution system includes a housing containing a circuit interrupting mechanism. A battery tube is positioned in the housing. A battery assembly is configured to be inserted into the battery tube. The battery assembly includes a battery assembly body having a first end and a second end. A battery is positioned in the battery assembly body. The battery assembly is configured such that both a positive contact and a negative contact are exposed from the second end of the battery assembly body. In some embodiments, the battery assembly includes a keyed portion mates with the battery tube to ensure alignment of the battery assembly in the battery tube.
RECLOSER BATTERY ASSEMBLY WITH HOT STICK ADAPTOR AND BATTERY TUBE ADAPTOR
A circuit interrupting device for use with an electrical power distribution system includes a housing containing a circuit interrupting device. A battery tube is positioned in the housing. A battery assembly is configured to be inserted into the battery tube. The battery assembly includes a assembly body having a first end and a second end. A battery is positioned in the assembly body. A cap assembly is connected to the assembly body and configured to connect the battery assembly to the battery tube. The cap assembly includes a torque-limiting device that prevents overtightening of the cap to the battery tube.
Fuse Cutout Monitoring and Indication Device
A device for monitoring and indicating a fuse tube detachment from a fuse cutout assembly contains a structural body, a tilt switch, a power source, a visual indicator, and an attachment mechanism. The attachment mechanism is used to mount the device onto the fuse tube. The tilt switch monitors the position of the fuse tube. More specifically, when the vertical position of the fuse tube changes to the dropped position the tilt switch is triggered. Thus, the visual indicator is illuminated. The illumination aids in the process of discovering the detached fuse tube. In addition to the visual indicator, the device can also be equipped with a wireless communication device and an alarm system. The wireless communication device can be used to provide the exact location of the detached fuse tube. On the other hand, the alarm system can be used to expedite the process of discovering the detached fuse tube.
Protection structure of fuse link switch
A protection structure is disclosed and is applied in a fuse link switch. The fuse link switch comprises: an insulator, a fuse tube including an upper connection portion and a lower connection portion, an upper-end fixing unit, a lower-end fixing unit, and a toggle mechanism, wherein the upper connection portion is connected with a pull hook. The protection structure comprises at least one electrically insulating shielding layer covering at least one of the upper-end fixing unit, the pull hook, the upper connection portion, the lower connection portion, the lower-end fixing unit, and the toggle mechanism through overmolding technique.
Dielectric cover for high voltage component with hood over hole for retaining pin
For protecting wildlife from electrocution by high voltage components, dielectric covers are used to cover fuse cutouts, insulators, or other high voltage components. The cover includes through-holes for receiving retaining pins to secure the cover in place. The holes are the weak link in flashover prevention since the holes form an air gap, which has a breakdown voltage lower than that of the cover material. To prevent a bird's wing or a squirrel's tail from directly covering the hole in the surface of the cover, an arched or tubular hood is formed around each hole to block the bird or squirrel from directly covering the hole, reducing the risk of a flashover through the hole. The hoods extend out about 1-1.5 inches to essentially add a 1-1.5 inch air gap between the animal and the hole without enlarging the cover.
Fuse cutout cover with spacer for loadbreak tool
A fuse cutout cover is disclosed that allows a lineman to engage a metal hook assembly and pull ring of the cutout with a loadbreak tool. The cutout also includes a wire connector and a metal top connector that leads from the wire connector to the top of the fuse. A front opening in the cover allows easy access by a loadbreak tool over a wide range of angles. A roof of the cover extends beyond the sidewalls of the opening and covers an end of the top connector. An inner vertical wall of the cover has a bottom edge that rests on the top surface of the top connector to space the roof from the top connector to provide additional vertical clearance when positioning the loadbreak tool to engage the cutout. The wall also blocks access to the enlarged open to prevent birds from nesting in the opening.
