Outdoor and/or waterproof switch
An electrical device such as, for example, an electrical switch is disclosed. The switch being arranged and configured to prevent ingress or intrusion of water, dust, or the like from the external environment thus making the switch particularly suitable for use outdoors or indoors where water and dust are expected. In one embodiment, the switch includes a base or housing, an internal actuator positioned within an internal cavity of the base, an external actuator accessible by a user, a barrier layer positioned between the internal actuator and the external actuator, the barrier layer arranged and configured to seal the internal cavity and the internal actuator, and a magnetic coupling arranged and configured to transfer movement of the external actuator to the internal actuator through the barrier layer.
PERMANENT MAGNET DRIVE ON-LOAD TAP-CHANGING SWITCH
A permanent magnet drive on-load tap-changing switch including a changing switch circuit that includes structurally identical odd- and even-numbered tap-changing circuits. The circuits include working contactors and dual-contact synchronous transition contactors made of primary and secondary contactors. The contactors each face directly a moving contactor, which are connected in parallel. A permanent magnet is fixed on each moving contactor and face directly on the other extremity thereof a moving contactor driving mechanism. The mechanism changes a force applied to the magnets, allowing the moving contactors to come into contact with or be separated from the working and transition contactors, thus implementing changeover from one tap to another tap. The switch is structurally simple and convenient to use, obviates the need for a high-speed mechanism, implements changing by the direct actions of the contactors, operates at high speed and reliably, and has a low failure rate and an extended service life.
MAGNETIC SWITCH ARRANGEMENT
A magnetic switching arrangement including a first contact, a second contact, at least one of the first and second contacts including a magnetically responsive material, a biaser operably connected to one of the first and second contacts and biasing the one of the first and second contact into electrical connection with the other of the first and second contacts such that a closed circuit is achieved in the absence of an external force preventing closure of the first and second contacts, and a disconnector maintaining the first and second contacts spaced from one another, preventing formation of a circuit. A method for operating a tool including applying or removing a magnetic field configuration and causing a first and second contact within the tool to make electrical contact. A borehole system including a borehole in a subsurface formation, and disposed in the borehole.
CONTROL WHEEL
A control wheel includes a casing, a wheel ring, a first magnetic element, a pivotal shaft and a second magnetic element. The casing includes an accommodation structure and a concave structure. The accommodation structure includes a base. The wheel ring is disposed within the accommodation structure. The wheel ring is exposed outside through the accommodation structure and the concave structure. The pivotal shaft is disposed within the wheel ring and connected with the base of the accommodation structure. The wheel ring is rotatable relative to the pivotal shaft. The first magnetic element is disposed within the wheel ring. The second magnetic element is disposed within the base of the accommodation structure. The first magnetic element of the wheel ring and the second magnetic element are magnetically attracted by each other. Consequently, a rotating speed of the wheel ring is decreased.
ARC PATH FORMING UNIT AND DIRECT CURRENT RELAY INCLUDING SAME
An arc path forming unit and a direct current relay including same are illustrated. The arc path forming unit according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises multiple magnets. Each of the magnets is configured to form a magnetic field at a point where each stationary contact is located. Each of the magnets located adjacent to each stationary contact is configured such that the opposite surfaces thereof have different polarities. A current flowing through a stationary contact and a movable contact and a magnetic field formed by each of the magnets generate an electromagnetic force. The electromagnetic force travels in a direction away from the center of the direct current relay. Therefore, a generated arc travels in the direction of the electromagnetic force and is thus moved in a direction away from the center of the direct current relay. Accordingly, the direct current relay can be prevented from being damaged.
Bistable retractable buttons
An electronic device includes an enclosure and a keyboard positioned within the enclosure. The keyboard includes a substrate and a key mechanism. The key mechanism includes a keycap support mechanism, a keycap supported by the keycap support mechanism and movable relative to the substrate, a ferromagnetic component attached to the keycap support mechanism, and a selectively magnetizable magnet. The selectively magnetizable magnet system may include a magnetizable material and a coil configured to selectively magnetize and demagnetize the magnetizable material. The key mechanism may include a collapsible dome biasing the keycap toward the extended position.
HIGH TEMPERATURE SWITCH APPARATUS
High temperature switch apparatus are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a first plunger housing having a first cavity and a second plunger housing having a second cavity. The first plunger housing and the second plunger housing to couple to enclose a plunger assembly of a proximity switch. A first contact housing defines a third cavity and a second contact housing defines a fourth cavity. At least a portion of the third cavity and at least a portion of the fourth cavity are complementary to a shape of an outer surface of the first plunger housing and the second plunger housing.
UNDERWATER DEVICE WITH ROTARY SWITCH AND RELATED SWITCH ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
An underwater device may include a waterproof housing defining a dry cavity and having a nonferrous switch interface wall. The underwater device may include a rotary switch within the dry cavity and including a switch body, and a switch shaft extending outwardly from the switch body. The underwater device may include a first magnetic body within the dry cavity and coupled between the switch shaft and the nonferrous switch interface wall, and a second magnetic body external from the waterproof housing and adjacent the nonferrous switch interface wall in alignment with the first magnetic body so that rotation of the second magnetic body rotates the switch shaft. Each of the first magnetic body and the second magnetic body may include a permanent magnet.
