Switch system
A switch system includes a system main relay, a temperature measuring unit, and a controller. The system main relay is configured to electrically connect a battery and an onboard device to each other by turning on a contact point, and to electrically disconnect the battery and the onboard device by turning off the contact point. The temperature measuring unit is configured to measure temperature of the contact point of the system main relay. The controller is configured to cause the system main relay to repeatedly turn on and off the contact point at a predetermined timing, (i) when the temperature of the contact point of the system main relay is a predetermined temperature or more or (ii) when an amount of rise in the temperature of the contact point is a predetermined amount or more.

A relay device may include an armature that moves between a first position that electrically couples the armature to a first contact and a second position that electrically couples the armature to a second contact. The relay device may also include a relay coil that receives a voltage to magnetize the relay coil, thereby causing the armature to move from the first position to the second position. The relay device also includes an additional coil that couples in series with the relay coil via a switch. The relay device also includes a drive circuit that causes the switch to couple the additional coil to the relay coil in response to receiving a signal indicative of the relay coil energizing.

MANUALLY RESETTABLE SWITCH APPARATUS
A manually resettable switch apparatus, which is controllable into a first or a second operating state, includes: a current path with an input terminal to which an input voltage can be applied, and an output terminal, a manually pluggable relay having a coil and a switching element which is switched into the current path when the relay is plugged in, a control and evaluation device which is designed to detect a defective operation of the switch apparatus and, in response thereto, to set the switch apparatus to the second operating state, and a detection device which is electrically connected to the control and evaluation device and is designed to signal to the control and evaluation device whether the relay is plugged in or unplugged. The control and evaluation device is further designed: i) to detect whether the relay has been unplugged after a detected defective operation and has been plugged in again after a predetermined time has elapsed, and if so, ii) to set the switch apparatus to the first operating state.
Transfer switch
A transfer switch transfers electric power provided to an electrical load from a first power source to a second power source. The transfer switch includes a coil arrangement that controls movement of a member to open or close a contactor of the first or second power source. The coil arrangement may be used with two voltage levels.
