Method for diagnosing the cause of tripping of an electrical protection device, auxiliary device and electrical system for implementing such a method
A method for diagnosing the cause of tripping of an electrical protection device includes, after detection by the auxiliary device of a loss of electrical power, determining a type of electrical fault on the basis of recorded values, the determining operation including: comparing, with a first threshold value, the largest value of the maximum intensity of the current from the recorded values for a plurality of measurement intervals preceding the loss of power, a short circuit being diagnosed if the largest value of the maximum intensity is greater than a first threshold value; comparing, with a second threshold value, the largest RMS value of the current from the recorded values, an overload being diagnosed if the largest RMS value is greater than a second threshold value.

A module for the interconnection between an electrical circuit breaker and an electrical contactor includes a housing and multiple high-power electrical conductors that are housed inside the housing, each of the high-power electrical conductors being suitable for electrically connecting an electrical output of a circuit breaker to an electrical input of a contactor, in order to allow a supply electric current to flow from the circuit breaker to the contactor. This interconnection module additionally includes a voltage sensor, which sensor is suitable for detecting the presence of a voltage between at least two of the high-power electrical conductors.
Electric circuit breaker device
An electric circuit breaker device includes: an igniter; a projectile that is disposed in a movement path, the projectile formed to be movable by actuation of the igniter; and a conductor piece that forms one portion of a predetermined electric circuit, the conductor piece having both end portions connected to respective other portions of the predetermined electric circuit, the conductor piece having a first portion between both the end portions arranged to traverse the movement path. A sensor is connected to a first part positioned between both the end portions and to a second part that is between both the end portions and is different from the first part, the sensor configured to detect current flowing through the conductor piece between both the end portions, the sensor disposed to be integrated with the conductor piece. The actuation of the igniter is controlled, based on the current detected by the sensor.
SOLID-STATE GROUND-FAULT CIRCUIT INTERRUPTER
Ground-fault circuit interrupter positioned between energy controlled supply circuit and load circuit which includes fault detection circuit that senses ground path current leakage to the load circuit, fault processing circuit that detects presence of fault and generates fault output signal when fault detected, and control circuit switch connected to fault processing signal output, wherein control circuit switch is opened by presence of fault output signal, thus isolating load circuit from supply circuit. Preferably fault processing circuit and control circuit are optically linked, such that when fault is detected, control circuit switch is opened by optical fault output signal, thus isolating load circuit from the supply circuit. Circuit interrupter may couple another circuit interrupter via power distribution control unit, optionally manageable remotely via automated control interface.
