AUXILIARY MODULE FOR AN ELECTRICAL SWITCHING DEVICE, AND ASSOCIATED SWITCHING DEVICE AND MONITORING SYSTEM

The disclosure relates to an auxiliary module for an electrical switching device including an input, an output, a first housing and a switching module which is configured to switch between a first configuration in which the switching module allows a current to flow between the input and the output and a second configuration in which the switching module blocks the current, the first housing defining a chamber which accommodates the switching module and defining a space for receiving the auxiliary module, the space containing a signalling member configured to transmit information relating to a state of the electrical switching device to the auxiliary module when the auxiliary module is in the space. This auxiliary module comprises a controller configured to generate a message and a radiofrequency communication module configured to transmit the message, via a radiofrequency data link, to a remote device.

Switching device with improved closing prevention

A stored energy-type circuit breaker includes a sensor that operates as a full open sensor, and that is used to prevent the circuit breaker from closing in response to either a closing signal or a manual operation. The full open sensor exhibits a first output condition when the moveable contact is in a fully open position and a second output condition when the moveable contact begins to leave the fully open position. An electronic trip unit (ETU) is electrically connected to the sensor and, when in a close break mode, blocks the circuit breaker from closing. The ETU does this by, upon detecting that the sensor is in the second output condition, generating a signal that will cause the breaker's opening spring to return the moveable contact to the fully open position.

PROTECTION UNIT FOR CONTROL/COMMAND UNITS OF AN ELECTRICAL ENCLOSURE

A protection unit, including a power switching device, with a mechanical switch. To improve the multipurpose nature of the power switching while making lockout easier and more reliable, provision is made for the power switching device to include an electrical actuator actuating the mechanical switch and being controlled by an electronic control unit, which is itself powered via an auxiliary switching device. A lockout system with a lock is provided, which, in a lockout configuration, mechanically keeps the mechanical switch and the auxiliary switching device in an isolation configuration, and, in operating configuration, allows the mechanical switch and the auxiliary switching device to move between the conduction configuration and the isolation configuration.

Breaker

A breaker includes a stationary contact, a movable contact, an operation device including a link portion liked to the movable contact and including an output lever rotatably supported, the operation device operating rotation of the output lever in accordance with a first control signal for a command for pulling out the movable contact and a second control signal for a command for inserting the movable contact, and an auxiliary contact to switch between turn-on and turn-off of an input of the first control signal and the second control signal to the operation device in conjunction with operation of the output lever, the auxiliary contact being able to be used in a circuit configuration to monitor a state of the operation device. The output lever rotates so as to operate a first link portion on a side toward a first direction with respect to a rotational center of the output lever.

A support-assembly suitable for a micro-switch of a switching device, including bracket-support-means suitable for being connected, in a stationary position, to a frame portion of the switching-device, coupling-protrusion-component shaped for being provided at an end of an operating-shaft of the micro-switch and for movably engaging with the bracket-support-component. The coupling-protrusion-component and the bracket-support-component being configured for enabling a rotation of the operating-shaft around a rotation-axis and for preventing a movement of the operating-shaft transversely to the rotation-axis.

ELECTRICAL SWITCHING APPARATUS, AND OPERATING MECHANISM AND LEVER ASSEMBLY THEREFOR

A lever assembly is for an operating mechanism of an electrical switching apparatus. The electrical switching apparatus includes a number of pairs of separable contacts structured to move from a CLOSED position to a TRIPPED OPEN position in response to a trip condition. The operating mechanism has an enclosure member and a number of biasing elements coupled to the enclosure member. The biasing elements are structured to move the separable contacts from the CLOSED position to the TRIPPED OPEN position. The lever assembly includes a lever member structured to engage the enclosure member, and a component located on the lever member. The component is structured to extend through each of the biasing elements in order to lengthen each of the biasing elements when the separable contacts are in the CLOSED position.

Electrical switching apparatus and secondary disconnect assembly with cradle assembly alignment and positioning features therefor

A secondary disconnect assembly is for an electrical switching apparatus. The secondary disconnect assembly includes a mounting member and a cradle assembly coupled to the mounting member and being movable among a plurality of positions with respect to the mounting member. The cradle assembly includes an inner cradle. When the inner cradle is disposed in a first predetermined one of the positions, movement of the inner cradle is restricted with respect to the mounting member. When the inner cradle is moved toward a second predetermined one of the positions, the inner cradle moves independently with respect to the mounting member.
