Trippable Control System for a Breaker Pole and Breaker Gear
20170271106 · 2017-09-21 ·

A trippable control system for one or more electrical breaker poles, comprises a first link pivotable about a first pivot point between first and second positions; a second link pivotable about a pivot axis for connecting to one or more breaker poles, whereby movement of the first link causes the second link to pivot about the pivot axis between a position for opening and a position for closing the breaker pole(s); and a trip mechanism suitable for releasing the first pivot point and for exerting a movement force on the first link to move the first link between the second and third positions when the first link pivots about a second pivot point. Movement of the first link between the second and third positions causes the second link to pivot about the pivot axis between the position for closing the breaker pole(s) and the position for opening the breaker gear.

High current, compact fusible disconnect switch with dual slider assembly and an actuator bias element

A fusible disconnect switch device is provided. The disconnect switch a switch actuator, an actuator bias element, and a slider assembly. The switch actuator is selectively positionable between an opened position and a closed position. The actuator bias element includes a first end acting on the switch actuator and a second end coupled to the switch housing. The slider assembly is linked to the switch actuator. The slider assembly includes a first slider and a second slider each slidably movable with respect to the switch housing along a linear axis. The first slider is independently movable relative to the second slider. The actuator bias element and the slider assembly are responsive to the position of the switch actuator to effect the switch closing operation and a switch opening operation.

A method is disclosed for operating a circuit breaker, the circuit breaker. The circuit breaker includes an operating lever, a latching mechanism and an electrical contact system with a movable contact and a fixed contact. The operating lever is movable into an ON-position and an OFF-position. Further, the operating lever is mechanically connected via the latching mechanism to the contact system such that when the operating lever is in its OFF-position, the contacts of the electrical contact system are opened and when the operating lever is in its ON-position, the contacts of the electrical contact system are closed. Further, such a circuit breaker is also disclosed.
