Door handle coupler

A coupler between an activator mounted on an enclosure and an electronic protection device located within the enclosure facilitates alignment between the coupler and the electronic protection device during installation and requires no tool for installation. The coupler is positioned over an opening in the electronic protection device and oriented such that a first coupling portion is configured to engage a complementary coupling portion on the electronic protection device. The coupler may be manually mounted, engaging the complementary coupling portions on the door handle coupler and the electronic protection device without requiring a tool for installation. The coupler includes an upper sleeve configured to receive an axle, connected to the activator, that rotates independently of a lower sleeve which is mounted to the electronic protection device, facilitating orientation of the activator on the outside of the enclosure. The coupler provides for local lock-out of the electronic protection device.

Circuit breaker housing

A circuit breaker housing for holding a switching device unit and a number of connection contacts for a connection line and/or a busbar. The housing has a first housing part and a second housing part. In the joined, assembled state, the housing parts form a front side and a rear side opposite said front side and at least one connection side and end faces located opposite one another. A holding chamber for a connection module having one of the connection contacts is provided on the front side and/or on at least one of the connection sides.

Hazardous location compliant circuit protection devices having enhanced safety intelligence, systems and methods

Compliant electrical circuit protection devices are described for use in hazardous environments without presenting ignition risks for potentially explosive environmental conditions. Sensing features and systems may evaluate wiring limits and user selected settings for compatibility, detect loose connections and operating parameters to ensure safe operation of the device, and to intelligently diagnose and manage issues of concern for the circuit protection devices as well as the larger electrical power system.

Safety apparatus having terminal shield with indication circuit, and circuit interruption apparatus

A safety apparatus is a terminal shield having an indication circuit incorporated therein. The safety apparatus is usable with a circuit interrupter to overlie one or more terminals of the circuit interrupter that are connected with line and load conductors and to thereby form a circuit interrupter apparatus. The safety apparatus can be employed at the line side of a circuit interrupter, at the load side of a circuit interrupter, or at both sides of a circuit interrupter. The safety apparatus can be provided as part of a new circuit interrupter apparatus or can be provided to retrofit existing circuit interrupters. The indication circuit advantageously outputs from a top surface of the terminal shield one of a visual indication and an audible indication when one or more terminals of the circuit interrupter are electrified, thereby easily conveying to a technician the portions of the circuit interrupter that are electrified.

Finger safe cover for a terminal of an electrical switching device
11676776 · 2023-06-13 · ·

The present disclosure relates to finger-safe requirements for breaker modules from electrical panel boards and envisages a finger safe cover 100a for a terminal of an electrical switching device 50. The finger safe cover comprises a cover body 110a with an expandable aperture section 120a. The aperture section 120a has an annulus 122a having a primary aperture 124a and a coupling section 126a surrounding the annulus 122a. The primary aperture 124a allows a thinner conducting cable 52 to pass therethrough. The coupling section 126a couples the annulus 122a with the cover body 110a. The aperture section 120a defines a secondary aperture 128a when the annulus 122a is detached from the cover body 110a by breaking the coupling section 126a, to allow to pass therethrough a thicker conducting cable 54. The cover 100a passes the IPXXB test, eliminates the need of safety accessories and is easy to install.
