A tuning system may acquire, from a mass spectrometer during a batch of one or more analytical runs performed with the mass spectrometer, tune data associated with an operating characteristic of the mass spectrometer. The tuning system may determine, based on the tune data, a value of an operating parameter configured to adjust the operating characteristic of the mass spectrometer and set the operating parameter to the determined value.
BAND PASS EXTRACTION FROM AN ION TRAPPING DEVICE AND TOF MASS SPECTROMETER SENSITIVITY ENHANCEMENT
A multipole rod set of an ion guide is adapted to receive a radial RF trapping voltage and a radial dipole direct current DC voltage. A lens electrode of the ion guide is positioned at one end of the multipole rod set to extract ions from the multipole rod set and adapted to receive an axial trapping AC voltage and a DC voltage. A radial dipole DC voltage is applied to the multipole rod set and an axial trapping AC voltage is simultaneously applied to a lens electrode in order to extract a bandpass mass range of ions trapped in the multipole rod set. Alternatively, a radial RF trapping voltage amplitude is applied to the multipole rod set and an axial trapping AC voltage is simultaneously applied to the lens electrode in order to extract a bandpass mass range of ions trapped in the multipole rod set.
Fast Modulation with Downstream Homogenisation
A method of mass spectrometry is disclosed involving scanning a parameter of a first device through which a mixture of components is passed. Different components are transmitted through or produced in the first device at different values of the parameter and hence scanning the device parameter introduces a temporal modulation or profile to the components. This temporal variation is then removed prior to mass analysing the components through a process of homogenisation.
METHOD FOR AUTHENTICATION OF ANIMAL SPECIES ORIGIN OF LEATHER PRODUCTS
The present invention discloses a method for authentication of animal species origin of leather products, which includes the following steps: Step 1: Model establishment: (1) Collect leather samples from different animal species origins, set mass spectrometric parameters, cut the surface of leather samples using a preheated electric soldering iron, and detect the resulting sample ions using the mass spectrometer; (2) Create a multivariate statistical model based on principal component analysis and linear discriminant analysis of rapid evaporative ionization mass spectrometric data and evaluate the model with cross-validation tests; Step 2: Analysis of real leather samples: detect and authenticate the identity of real leather samples based on the multivariate statistical model. The authentication method disclosed in present invention is a rapid analytical method that requires no sample pretreatment and can identify the animal species origin of leather products rapidly and accurately.
