Disclosed are bi-pin LED lamps, like the GY6 lamp, that address the heat-dissipation problems associated with traditional LED light sources.

A ceramic metal halide lamp includes a luminous tube; an illuminating arrangement having at least two illuminators serially connected with each other and deposed inside the luminous tube; and at least one retainer having at least contacting one end being contacted with an inner surface of the luminous tube to support the illuminators being stability located at a predetermined position inside said luminous tube, wherein the two illuminators are serially connected with each other along a central line of said luminous tube.

A portable XRF analyzer includes a hand shield to substantially block x-rays from impinging on a hand of a user. The portable XRF analyzer includes a heat sink over an x-ray source and a heat sink over an x-ray detector. The heat sinks are separated from each other by a thermally insulative material.

A semiconductor lamp (1) comprises a housing (2) in which a driver (3) is accommodated and at least one contact pin (6) protruding from the housing (2) outwards, wherein the contact pin (6) is tubular and riveted to the housing (2) and the driver (3) is connected to the contact pin (6) via an electrically conductive connection element (12) which is inserted into a cavity (13) of the contact pin (6). A method serves for producing a semiconductor lamp (1), wherein at least one tubular contact pin (6) is inserted into a feedthrough (5) of a housing (2) from outside till the contact pin (6) abuts the housing (2), the contact pin (6) is next riveted with the housing (2) on the inside and a driver (3) is inserted into the housing (2), whereby an electrically conductive connection element (12) is inserted into the contact pin (6). The invention is particularly applicable to LED retrofit lamps for replacing bipin halogen lamps, in particular MR16 lamps.

A lamp includes a base, a light-permeable bulb containing at least one light source, and a driver for powering the light source. The driver is located within the base. The bulb has outwardly leading supply lines on the base side, and the driver has at least one contact element which projects in the direction of the bulb into which a free-standing section of the respective supply line is inserted to make contact. The technology is particularly applicable to lamps with LEDs as light sources, in particular for replacement of conventional lamps such as incandescent lamps.

The invention relates to a lamp (1), comprising a base (2), a light-permeable bulb (3) in which at least one light source (4) is accommodated, and a driver (10) for supplying the at least one light source (4) with electrical operating signals, which is accommodated in the base (2), which bulb (3) has outwardly leading supply lines (6) on the base side, wherein the driver (10) has at least one contact element (17) which projects in the direction of the bulb (3) and into which a free-standing section of the respective supply line (6) is inserted to make contact. A threadless magnetic lightbulb and socket system includes a lightbulb base having a neck with a threadless exterior surface and a socket having a receptacle with a threadless interior surface configured to receive the neck. A first magnet is positioned at a tip of the lightbulb base and a second magnet is positioned in the receptacle of the socket such that the first magnet and the second magnet are configured to attract each other to magnetically retain the lightbulb within the socket. A threadless magnetic lightbulb includes a lightbulb base having a neck with a threadless exterior surface and a magnet positioned at a tip of the lightbulb base. A threadless magnetic socket includes a socket having a receptacle with a threadless interior surface configured to receive a lightbulb base and a magnet positioned in the receptacle of the socket.

A discharge lamp includes a discharge tube containing electrodes, and base sections. The base sections have terminals for connecting to external power lines, and internal power lines for connecting the terminals to the electrodes within the discharge tube. Information generation devices that generates information to be output to outside are provided within the base sections. Superimposition circuits that superpose the information, generated by the information generation devices, on the internal power lines within the base sections are also provided within the base sections. The information generation devices include sensors and generate information based on output of the sensors. A receiving circuit extracts and receives the information, superposed on the internal power lines, from the external power lines connected to the internal power lines. Thus, information generated on the discharge lamp side can be transmitted to outside with a simple construction.

A discharge lamp includes a discharge tube containing electrodes, and base sections. The base sections have terminals for connecting to external power lines, and internal power lines for connecting the terminals to the electrodes within the discharge tube. Information generation devices that generates information to be output to outside are provided within the base sections. Superimposition circuits that superpose the information, generated by the information generation devices, on the internal power lines within the base sections are also provided within the base sections. The information generation devices include sensors and generate information based on output of the sensors. A receiving circuit extracts and receives the information, superposed on the internal power lines, from the external power lines connected to the internal power lines. Thus, information generated on the discharge lamp side can be transmitted to outside with a simple construction.
