SECONDARY BATTERY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A secondary battery according to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure includes a case for accommodating an electrode assembly in an internal accommodating space, a cap plate, a first terminal inserted into the cap plate in a first direction, and bent at an inner surface of the cap plate to be coupled to the cap plate, and a collector plate in the case, electrically connected to a first electrode of the electrode assembly, and coupled to the first terminal in the first direction.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FORMATION OF CYLINDRICAL AND PRISMATIC CAN CELLS
A method for formation of cylindrical and prismatic can cells may include providing a battery, where the battery includes one or more cells, with each cell including at least one silicon-dominant anode, a cathode, and a separator. The battery also includes a metal can that contains the one or more cells such that during formation a pressure between 50 kPa and 1 MPa is applied to the one or more cells. The battery may include strain absorbing materials arranged between the one or more cells and interior walls of the can. The strain absorbing materials may include foam. The strain absorbing materials may include a solid electrolyte layer. The strain absorbing materials may include PMMA, PVDF, or a combination thereof. The pressure during a formation process may be due to a thickness of the strain absorbing materials being thicker than an expansion of the one or more cells.
SECONDARY BATTERY
A secondary battery includes: a cylindrical case; an electrode assembly in the cylindrical case; and a cap plate electrically connected to the electrode assembly and sealing the cylindrical case. The cap plate has a first flat portion at a center of the cap plate, a second flat portion outside the first flat portion, and a vent portion between the first flat portion and the second flat portion, and the vent portion has a thickness smaller than a thickness of the first flat portion or a thickness of the second flat portion.
CYLINDRICAL SECONDARY BATTERY
A cylindrical secondary battery includes: a cylindrical can having a circular bottom portion, a side portion extending from the bottom portion, a beading part concavely formed inwardly at one end of the side portion, and a crimping part formed by bending a distal end of the side portion; an electrode assembly in the can; and a cap assembly sealing the can. The cap assembly includes a gasket for insulation from the can, and an upper portion of the gasket in a direction away from the electrode assembly has a smaller thickness than a lower portion of the gasket.
Battery cell having structure for prevention of swelling
A battery cell is configured such that a jelly-roll type electrode assembly is accommodated in a battery casing, and includes: the battery casing including upper, lower, and side surfaces, wherein the side surface of the battery casing includes an isolation wall providing a buffer space between the battery casing and the electrode assembly. The buffer space accommodates deformation of the electrode assembly when the electrode assembly is expanded, such that deformation of the side surface of the battery casing is prevented from occurring.
Secondary battery
A secondary battery according to an embodiment includes: an electrode body which contains a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and at least one separator interposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; a case main body which receives the electrode body; a sealing body which seals an opening portion of the case main body; and a sealing body-side insulating member provided between the sealing body and one end portion of the electrode body and a case main body-side insulating member; the one end portion and the other end portion of the electrode body each form a protruding section; and the sealing body-side insulating member includes a base material and an adhesive layer which is disposed on the base material and which contains a cured object of a curable resin, and the protruding section of the one end portion of the electrode body is adhered to the adhesive layer.
Isostatic press devices and processes for cylindrical solid-state batteries
Various arrangements for compressing a cylindrical battery cell are presented herein. The cylindrical battery cell may be wrapped in a buffer material. The buffer material may then be compressed using a compression mechanism. The buffer material may uniformly distribute pressure applied to the buffer material to a curved sidewall of the cylindrical battery cell.
Secondary batteries
A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a first separator disposed on one side of the surface of the negative electrode and having a thickness T1, and a second separator disposed on the other side of the surface of the negative electrode and having a thickness T2. The thickness T2 of the second separator is larger than the thickness T1 of the first separator. The first separator includes a first porous film having a porosity P1, and the second separator includes a second porous film having a porosity P2. At least one of the first separator and the second separator includes a heat resistant layer. The positive electrode, the first separator, the negative electrode and the second separator are wound together such that the first separator is arranged on the outer side and the second separator is arranged on the inner side.
POWER GENERATION DEVICES AND METHODS FOR USE WITH TOILETS
Power generation devices and methods for use with toilets is disclosed. A number of power generation devices are provided that can be used in combination to power various features in a toilet which will be particularly useful for portable toilets that are off the grid. The power generation devices and methods include, for example, using a cell battery inside a toilet water source, a wind turbine, solar panels, and piezoelectricity. The features include, for example, lighting up the toilet with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to make it easier for users to find the toilet, an audio/video setup for entertainment, and a toilet status light indicator to let the next user know when the toilet paper is out.
SECONDARY BATTERY AND BATTERY PACK INCLUDING THE SAME
A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly, a battery case surrounding the electrode assembly, and a sealing member located between the electrode assembly and the battery case. The sealing member includes polymer particles that are configured to expand in all directions.
