Example methods and apparatuses for detecting lithium plating and obtaining a polarization proportion are provided. One example method includes obtaining an open-circuit voltage of a rechargeable battery and a negative electrode open-circuit voltage of the rechargeable battery based on a state of charge of the rechargeable battery. A negative electrode polarization voltage of the rechargeable battery is obtained based on the open-circuit voltage, a terminal voltage of the rechargeable battery, and a polarization proportion of the rechargeable battery. A negative electrode voltage of the rechargeable battery is obtained based on the negative electrode open-circuit voltage and the negative electrode polarization voltage. It is determined, based on the negative electrode voltage, whether lithium plating occurs in the rechargeable battery.

BATTERY SYSTEM AND BATTERY MODULE EVALUATION METHOD CAPABLE OF DETECTING DAMAGED BATTERY CELL
The present invention relates to a battery system for detecting a damaged battery cell, and a method of evaluating a battery module. The battery system and the apparatus for evaluating performance of the battery module can accurately predict the location of the battery cell where gas has been generated by introducing a plurality of gas sensor units in the battery module where a plurality of battery cells are accommodated, and comparing gas detection time points measured in the gas sensor units when gas is generated in a battery cell. Hence, the battery system and the apparatus for evaluating performance of the battery module can be usefully used in terms of development of a battery module and/or management of a developed battery module.
BATTERY INSPECTION APPARATUS
A battery inspection apparatus capable of self-diagnosing failure is provided. The battery inspection apparatus includes a contact probe, a power supply module, a power cable for providing a path for supplying the power generated by the power supply module to the contact probe, a voltage measuring module, a measuring cable configured to measure a voltage of the contact probe by the voltage measuring module, a switching module configured to selectively connect the voltage measuring module to the power cable or the measuring cable, and a control module configured to determine whether at least one of the contact probe or the power cable is abnormal based on the voltage measurement value of the voltage measuring module according to a connection state of the switching module. A verification device capable of diagnosing failure of the battery inspection apparatus is also provided.
