A battery module and a method of assembling a battery module are provided. The method includes selectively applying a light-cure adhesive to recesses in a first side of a carrier layer and inserting battery cells into respective recesses. The method further includes exposing the first side of the carrier layer to light to at least partially cure the light-cure adhesive with the carrier layer in a first orientation, moving the carrier layer into a second orientation, and exposing a second opposite side of the carrier layer to light to fully cure the light-cure adhesive. The recesses may include a sidewall having crush points spaced apart along the sidewall and a bottom portion having an opening between a pair of crush points, where adhesive is not disposed between the pair of crush points.

A method of producing fuel that includes providing a feed comprising natural gas, a portion of which is renewable natural gas, to a steam methane reformer in a hydrogen production unit. The feed includes a first portion that is converted to syngas and a second portion that passes through the steam methane reformer unconverted. The unconverted feed is directed to one or more burners of the steam methane reformer as fuel. The renewable natural gas is apportioned such that the first portion of the feed, which is feedstock, has a larger renewable fraction than the second portion, which is fuel. Apportioning a higher renewable fraction to the portion of the feed that is converted increases the yield of renewable content.

A battery cell assembly includes a frame and multiple battery cells which are held in cell-individual recesses of the frame so as to be aligned parallel to one another. A respective gap filler is arranged between lateral surfaces of the battery cells and the recess inner faces facing the lateral surfaces, said gap filler connecting the battery cells and the frame together. The frame is made of a solid, dimensionally stable, and thermally conductive material, and the gap filler is made of a permanently deformable thermally conductive material. Furthermore, the inner faces of the recesses extend in the vertical direction of the battery cells over the entire length thereof.

This makes it challenging to balance and manage stacks of cells arranged in series. A battery circuit is provided that includes each cell having an inline switch that is in series with the respective cell, and an outline switch that is parallel to the respective cell and the inline switch. When the inline switch is open and the corresponding outline switch is closed, the respective cell is electrically isolated from the stack. Specific cells within a stack can be electrically isolated to vary power, balance the circuit, remove damaged cells, and provide rest to the cells to extend the lifetime usage of the cells.
