A negative electrode material includes a silicon-based material, where a particle of the silicon-based material includes at least one recessed portion, and the recessed portion is 50 nm to 20 μm in width, and 50 nm to 10 μm in depth. The recessed structure leaves room for the silicon-based material to swell, thereby solving the problem of large volume swelling of the silicon-based material. In addition, when the silicon-based material with the recessed structure is composited with a carbon material, a conductive agent, and the like to form a negative electrode plate, small particles of the carbon material and the conductive agent are embedded into the recessed portion of the silicon-based material, solving the problem of low compacted density of the silicon-based negative electrode material with a recessed structure, and compensating for the low volumetric energy density of the recessed structure.

A natural graphite-based modified composite material, a preparation method therefor, and a lithium ion battery comprising the modified composite material. The natural graphite-based modified composite material comprises natural graphite and non-graphitized carbon coated on the inner and outer surfaces of the natural graphite. The preparation method comprises: (1) subjecting spherical natural graphite to isotropic treatment; (2) performing granularity control and shaping treatment; (3) subjecting the inner surface and the outer surface of the material obtained in step (2) to simultaneous modification; and (4) performing carbonization, so as to obtain a natural graphite-based modified composite material.

According to the present disclosure, it is possible to inhibit the electrically conductive foreign substance from falling off and being peeled off from the electrode plate that has been already manufactured, so as to contribute in improving the safety property of the secondary battery. The manufacturing method of the electrode plate herein disclosed includes a precursor preparing step for preparing an electrode precursor 20A including an active material provided area A1 in which an electrode active material layer 24 is provided on a surface of the electrode core 22 and including a core exposed area A2 in which the electrode active material layer 24 is not provided and the electrode core 22 is exposed, and an active material provided area cutting step for cutting the active material provided area A1 by a pulse laser, and a core exposed area cutting step for cutting the core exposed area A2 by the pulse laser. Then, in the case where the pulse width (ns) of the pulse laser is represented by X and the lap rate (%) is represented by Y for the core exposed area cutting step, a condition represented by Y≥−3log X+106 is satisfied. According to the manufacturing method of the electrode plate as described above, it is possible to inhibit the electrically conductive foreign substance from falling off and being peeled off from the electrode plate that has been already manufactured, and thus it is possible to contribute in improving the safety property of the secondary battery.

Systems and methods are provided for high volume roll-to-roll direct coating of electrodes for silicon-dominant anode cells and may include applying a slurry to a current collector film, the slurry comprising silicon particles and a binder material; drying the slurry to form a precursor composite film; rolling the current collector film into a precursor composite roll; and applying a heat treatment to the precursor composite film and the current collector film in a nitrogen gas environment, wherein the heat treatment is configured for converting the precursor composite film to a pyrolyzed composite film. The heat treatment may include one or both of: applying the heat treatment to a roll comprising the precursor composite roll in whole; and applying the heat treatment to the current collector film as it is continuously fed from the precursor composite roll.
