A venting device for insertion into a sealing part of a pouch of a secondary battery includes: a housing configured to be inserted between two surfaces of the sealing part so as to be sealed together with the sealing part; a sheet disposed in the housing and defining a passage through which an inside and an outside of the pouch are configured to communicate with each other; a plate spring configured to open and close the passage according to an internal pressure of the pouch and made of a metal having elasticity; and a ball disposed between the sheet and the plate spring so as to contact or be spaced apart from the sheet at an outlet-side of the passage, thereby opening and closing the passage, wherein the ball has a hemispherical shape to be attached to an inner surface of the plate spring.

A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly and an electrolyte that are inserted and injected into a pouch. An edge of the pouch is sealed to form a sealing portion. The secondary battery also includes a valve fixed to the sealing portion. The valve includes a body forming a passage having opened one end facing the inside of the pouch and provided with a chamber connected to the passage, wherein a discharge hole communicating with the outside is formed in the chamber. The valve also includes a gate seated on a hook protrusion forming a boundary between the passage and the chamber to open or close the passage. The valve also includes a spring mounted to apply elastic force in a direction in which the gate is closed.

A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly and an electrolyte that are inserted and injected into a pouch. An edge of the pouch is sealed to form a sealing portion. The box body of the battery includes: an electrical chamber, configured to accommodate a plurality of battery cells, a first wall of a battery cell being provided with a pressure relief mechanism; a collecting chamber, configured to collect emissions from the battery cell when the pressure relief mechanism is actuated; an isolating component, configured to isolate the electrical chamber from the collecting chamber, the isolating component being provided with a pressure relief region corresponding to the pressure relief mechanism, and the pressure relief region being configured to discharge the emissions from the electrical chamber when the pressure relief mechanism is actuated.

A secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly; a case including an opening and accommodating the electrode assembly; a cap assembly sealing the opening of the case and having a valve hole formed therein; and a valve vertically movably installed in the valve hole and selectively openable and closeable, to allow an internal gas to be discharged.

To solve the above problem, a venting device inserted into a sealing part of a pouch of a secondary battery according to the present invention includes: a housing inserted between confronting surfaces of the sealing part and sealed together with the sealing part; an element made of a metal and disposed in the housing and through which a passage is defined providing gas communication between an inside and an outside of the pouch; and a ball disposed at an outlet-side of the passage, the ball configured to open and close the passage, wherein, in the element, an edge of an inner circumference of a surface of the outlet-side of the passage is chamfered or filleted so as to face the ball, and the element includes: a surface treatment layer formed on the chamfered or filleted surface; and a layer made of a polymer and fused to the surface treatment layer.

A battery includes a battery element, a housing body, and a valve device. The housing body is constituted by at least one laminate and includes an interior space in which the battery element is housed, a first housing portion that covers the interior space from a first side, and a second housing portion that covers the interior space from a second side. The valve device is attached to the housing body and can make interior space of housing body be in communication with an external space. A joined edge portion is formed in housing body as a result of the first and second housing portion being fused along respective peripheral edge portions. The valve device is sandwiched between the first and second housing portion in the joined edge portion, and an inner end of the valve device protrudes from an inner edge of joined edge portion toward the interior space.

A battery includes a battery element, a housing body, and a valve device. The housing body is constituted by at least one laminate and includes an interior space in which the battery element is housed, a first housing portion that covers the interior space from a first side, and a second housing portion that covers the interior space from a second side. The valve device is attached to the housing body and can make interior space of housing body be in communication with an external space. A joined edge portion is formed in housing body as a result of the first and second housing portion being fused along respective peripheral edge portions. The valve device is sandwiched between the first and second housing portion in the joined edge portion, and an inner end of the valve device protrudes from an inner edge of joined edge portion toward the interior space.
