This separator includes a base part extending in the form of a surface, and a bead continuous with the base part and protruding from the base part in a stacking direction. The bead includes, in plan view, a straight section extending straight and a curved section continuous with the straight section and curved from the straight section. In the separator, the height from the base part to a top part of the curved section is configured to be lower than the height from the base part to a top part of the straight section.

An electrolyte-circulating battery according to the present invention includes a cell frame including a bipolar plate in contact with an electrode that forms a battery cell, and a frame that surrounds a peripheral edge of the bipolar plate; and a sealing member that is disposed on the frame and that prevents an electrolyte supplied to the battery cell from leaking out of the frame. The frame has a seal groove in which the sealing member is fitted. The seal groove includes a narrow section that causes the sealing member to elastically deform to prevent the sealing member from becoming detached from the seal groove. The narrow section has a width that is uniform in a depth direction of the seal groove.

MOLTEN METAL ANODE SOLID OXIDE FUEL CELL FOR TRANSPORTATION-RELATED AUXILIARY POWER UNITS

A vehicular power system, a vehicle and a method of providing auxiliary power to a vehicle using an auxiliary power unit that uses a molten metal anode solid oxide fuel cell rather than an internal combustion engine. The auxiliary power unit includes a container with numerous fuel cells disposed within it such that when the metal anode is heated, the metal converts to a molten state that can be electrochemically cycled between oxidized and reduced states by oxygen and a fuel present in the molten metal, respectively. The auxiliary power unit further includes a furnace that selectively provides heat to the fuel cells in order to place the anode into its molten metal state. Seals may provide fluid isolation between the molten metal within the container and the ambient environment.

Gasket and method for manufacturing same

A gasket includes a reinforcing body made of a resin film, a one-side gasket body on one surface of the reinforcing body, and another-side gasket body on another surface of the reinforcing body. The reinforcing body has, between both gasket bodies, a three-dimensional shape in which the resin film is bent. The one-side gasket body includes an inversely-tapered engaging convex portion protruding toward the other-side gasket body, the reinforcing body includes a deformation portion as the three-dimensional shape deforming along a shape of the engaging convex portion, and the other-side gasket body includes an inversely-tapered engaging concave portion embedding therein the engaging convex portion and the deformation portion. At least one of the one-side gasket body and the other-side gasket body includes a flat surface-shaped seal surface, and the reinforcing body has a convex shape as the three-dimensional shape protruding toward the flat surface-shaped seal surface.
