A method for tuning an antenna may include depositing multiple portions of an antenna structure onto a substrate. The method may further include electrically coupling each of the portions of the antenna structure. The method may also include severing an electrical connection between two of the portions of the antenna structure to tune the antenna structure for use with a transmission device.

Antenna system with integrated electromagnetic interference shielded heat sink

An antenna system with integrated electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielded heat sink is disclosed. The system includes an antenna circuit board with a plurality of antenna or radiating elements formed on a common plane comprising a first surface. Circuit elements are placed on a second surface of the antenna circuit board. In addition, the second surface of the antenna circuits board is connected to a pocketed EMI shielding cover with individual shield pockets serving as an EMI shield and a heat sink containing a cooling fluid. At least some adjacent pockets can be in fluid communication with one another.

Reflector markers and systems and methods for identifying and locating them

Markers and related systems and methods are provided for localizing lesions within a patient's body, e.g., within a breast. The marker includes one or more photosensitive diodes for transforming light pulses striking the marker into electrical energy, one or more antennas, and a switch coupled to the photodiodes and antennas such that the light pulses cause the switch to open and close and modulate radar signals reflected by the marker back to a source of the signals. The antenna(s) may include one or more wire elements extending from a housing, one or more antenna elements printed on a substrate, or one or more chip antennas. Optionally, the marker may include a processor coupled to the photodiodes for identifying signals in the light pulses or one or more coatings or filters to allow selective activation of the marker.

A patch antenna intended to equip a spacecraft, the antenna comprising a dielectric substrate, a radiating antenna element present on the dielectric substrate, the radiating antenna element having a center of symmetry and an area devoid of material, the center of symmetry being present in the area devoid of material, and a protective layer covering the radiating antenna element.

Band antenna EMP filter apparatus having hemp protection capability

A band antenna EMP filter apparatus having HEMP protection capability is disclosed. The apparatus includes a discharging part, a band pass filtering part, and a residual current eliminating part. The discharging part primarily discharges a transient voltage due to a high altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) when the HEMP is inputted through an input part receiving a radio frequency (RF) signal of an antenna. The band pass filtering part secondarily blocks a residual current primarily discharged by the discharging part and passes only a signal of a preset frequency band to output it through an output part. The residual current eliminating part limits a transient voltage of the HEMP by eliminating a residual current passing through the band pass filtering part.

Antenna array radiation shielding
11611146 · 2023-03-21 · ·

An antenna array may include shielding elements that provide a degree of radiation shielding to other components of the antenna array, such as a substrate of the antenna array. In some examples, the shielding elements may be positioned to overlap with one or more gaps between antenna elements, or one or more gaps between ground elements (e.g., when viewed from a radiation source, when viewed in a direction perpendicular to a substrate). Thus, shielding elements of an antenna array may reflect, absorb, or otherwise dissipate radiation that passes through such gaps before the radiation is incident on the other components of the antenna array, such as the substrate of the antenna array.

Radio frequency emission guard for portable wireless electronic device
11605880 · 2023-03-14 · ·

A radio frequency and electromagnetic emission shield employed on wireless personal and portable electronic devices, containing one or more layers of radio frequency (RF) or electromagnetic (EM) screening material, shielding the user from harmful RF or EM radiation, or a redirection antenna that receives all RF signals, and redirects those signals away from the user. The RF emission shield may be contained within a plurality of outer layers, providing a secure fit to a wireless electronic device and an outer layer providing an easy grip for the user.

Antenna control apparatus and antenna system
11600896 · 2023-03-07 · ·

An antenna system includes an antenna and an antenna control apparatus. The antenna control apparatus includes a control circuit, i.e., a control integrated circuit. The control circuit adjusts and boosts an antenna voltage to supply a required current to the antenna. The antenna voltage is maintained so as not to exceed a predetermined upper limit voltage threshold value. The control circuit is configured to determine a disconnection failure on the antenna when the antenna voltage detected by an overvoltage detection circuit reaches the upper limit voltage threshold value, or is boosted beyond the upper limit voltage threshold value.

An antenna housing is provided that is configured to be mounted to a pole. The antenna housing has spaced upper and lower ends. A sidewall extends between and around the spaced ends to define an interior of the housing. This interior may house and/or partially conceal one or more antennas. Inlet and outlet ducting extend through the sidewall of the housing to individually cool each antenna within the interior of the housing. The inlet and outlet duct may connect to a cooling duct that is in fluid communication with a heat rejection surface of the antenna.
