A signal transmission line includes first and second base materials, and conductive bonding materials. The first base material includes a signal conductor. The second base material includes a ground conductor. The conductive bonding materials bond the first base and second base material to provide a gap. The first base material includes a mounting conductor to which the conductive bonding materials are respectively bonded. The mounting conductor includes a portion extending in parallel or substantially in parallel with the signal conductor on a side of a first side surface, and a portion extending in parallel or substantially in parallel with the signal conductor on a side of a second side surface. A position of a portion of the mounting conductor on the side of the first side surface and a position of a portion of the mounting conductor on the side of the second side surface are different from each other in a signal transmission direction.

Methods and systems for a steerable antenna array are disclosed. The antenna array includes an array of antenna elements aligned in rows and columns on a substrate. Additionally, the antenna array includes a microstrip feed within the substrate, where the feed is configured to electromagnetically couple to each antenna element of the array of antenna elements. The antenna array further includes a ground plane within the substrate. Additionally, for each antenna element, the antenna array includes a first cavity disposed between the ground plane and feed, and a second cavity disposed on the other side of the ground plane from the first cavity. The antenna array further includes a plurality of fluid lines configured to selectively add or remove fluid from the cavities coupled to the fluid line and cause a deflection of the ground plane in a region of the cavities coupled to the fluid line.

A phased array antenna device comprises antenna elements arranged in a spatial distribution to emit and receive superposing radio frequency signals to and from different directions. Each antenna element is positioned within a corresponding unit cell. The unit cells are arranged in a non-overlapping manner next to each other. A feeding network for transmitting the antenna signals between a common feeding point and the respective antenna element comprises a plurality of antenna element transmission line segments each running into an antenna element and a corresponding plurality of phase shifting devices. The feeding transmission line segments each comprises more than two transition structures distributed along the feeding transmission line segment. Each transition structure provides for a signal coupling between the feeding transmission line segment and the corresponding antenna element transmission line segment, thereby connecting several dedicated antenna element transmission line segments with the same feeding transmission line segment.

Phased array antenna device

A phased array antenna device comprises antenna elements positioned within a corresponding unit cell. The unit cells are arranged non-overlappingly next to each other. A feeding network transmits antenna signals between a common control unit and the respective antenna element. The feeding network comprises a plurality of antenna element transmission line segments, each running into an antenna element, and a plurality of phase shifting devices. Several feeding transmission line segments, each comprising more than two transition structures are provided. Each transition structure couples a signal into a corresponding antenna element transmission line segment. The transition structure for an antenna element transmission line segment that runs into a unit cell is positioned in the direction of the feeding transmission line segment passing by or traversing this unit cell at a phase shifting distance that is larger than an extension of the unit cell measured in this direction.

ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE TRANSMISSION STRUCTURE

An electromagnetic wave transmission structure including a substrate, at least one transmission line, antennas, and tunable dielectric units is provided. The transmission line includes a first extending portion and second extending portions. The first extending portion is extended in a first direction. The second extending portions are respectively extended from two opposite edges of the first extending portion, and an extending direction thereof is parallel to a second direction. The second extending portions are arranged along the first direction. The antennas are disposed near the at least one transmission line. The tunable dielectric units are overlapped with portions of the at least one transmission line located between the antennas. Each tunable dielectric unit has an overlapped first electrode layer and controllable dielectric layer. The controllable dielectric layer is disposed between the first electrode layer and the at least one transmission line.

Dual polarization patch antenna system

A switchable dual polarization patch antenna with improved cross polarization isolation to concurrently radiate horizontally polarized signals and vertically polarized signals. A planar conductor is arranged with a first terminal and a second terminal that are vertically spaced on a portion of the planar conductor to radiate a component of a vertically polarized signal with zero degrees of phase shift from one of the two terminals and radiate another component of the vertically polarized signal having a 180 degrees of phase shift from the other of the two terminals. A hybrid coupler can provide the 180 degrees of phase shift. A horizontally polarized signal is radiated from a third terminal that is horizontally spaced on another portion of the planar conductor and coupled to a horizontally polarized signal source. The direction of the 180 phase shift for the first and second components of the vertically polarized signal may be selected. Also, a direction for a phase shift for the horizontally polarized signal may be selectable.

An antenna structure, a radar, and a terminal may be applied to the field of millimeter-wave radars and can extend a 3 dB bandwidth of the antenna structure. The antenna structure includes: A main feeder and at least one patch unit group, where the at least one patch unit group is connected in series to the main feeder in a length direction of the main feeder, and each of the at least one patch unit group includes at least two patch units disposed in a V-shaped structure. Each patch unit group is connected in series to the main feeder through the two patch units that are disposed in the V-shaped structure and that are in each patch unit group.

Antenna device

Provided is an antenna device with a simple configuration, said antenna device supporting a plurality of frequency bands. An antenna device according to the present invention is provided with: at least one first radiation element that has a resonant frequency in a first frequency band; at least one second radiation element; and a connection line for connecting the first radiation element and the second radiation element. The line length formed of the first radiation element, the connection line, and the second radiation element is set to a length so as to have a resonant frequency in a second frequency band lower than the first frequency band.
