A system and method for tracking non-geo synchronous orbit satellites on orbiting planes of regular motion patterns. The method includes providing a first satellites moving in a direction descending in latitude in first orbital planes and a second satellites moving in a direction ascending in latitude in second orbital planes; steering an antenna to an antenna tilt φ from normal with a single axis mechanism lined up with a first axis; scanning, electronically, with a linear array at a scan angle ψ along a second axis; and locking to a signal from a handed-from satellite from the first satellites, where the first axis is angled from the second axis, the steering along the first axis and the scanning along the second axis jointly track the handed-from satellite, the first orbits seem parallel, the second orbits seem parallel, and the first orbits seem aligned with the antenna tilt φ. A handoff between the first satellites may use one of the second satellites as a steppingstone.

Dual boom deployable parabolic trough reflector

A method for deploying a trough structure. The methods comprise: causing a first telescoping segment to move in a first direction away from a proximal end of a telescoping boom; and transiting a flexible element from an untensioned state to a tensioned state as the first telescoping segment is moved in the first direction. The flexible element is coupled to a distal end of the first telescoping segment by a first bulkhead and is coupled to a distal end of a second telescoping segment by a second bulkhead. The first telescoping segment is coupled to the second telescoping segment of the boom when the first telescoping segment reaches an extended position. The flexible element has a parabolic trough shape when in the tensioned state.

Radar device and aircraft

The present invention is provided with: an antenna 23 having an antenna surface 28 for radiating radio waves so as to have a prescribed plane of polarization; a second rotary mechanism 22 which is connected to the antenna 23 and which rotates the antenna 23 about a second rotation axis I2 that is set in a normal direction orthogonal to the antenna surface 28; and a first rotary mechanism 21 which is connected to the second rotary mechanism 22 and which rotates the antenna 23 and the second rotary mechanism 22 about a first rotation axis I1 that is set in a direction slanted with respect to the second rotation axis I2.

CALIBRATING RADARS AND TRACKING SPACE OBJECTS

Some of such technologies enable a technique for calibrating a radar based on using—A—an elemental antenna, which can be embedded on a housing hosting a set of antenna elements, or—B—an antenna mounted to a reflector (108). Some of such technologies enable a radar site containing a first ID phased array (112) and a second ID phased array (112), where the first ID phased array sends a set of signals and receives a set of reflections based on the set of signals, and the second ID phased array receives the set of reflections.

A SENSOR ASSEMBLY AND MONITORING SYSTEM FOR AN IDLER ROLLER IN A BELT CONVEYOR SYSTEM

A sensor assembly has a housing for mounting on a shaft of an idler roller in a belt conveyor system. The housing has one or more sensors for detecting one or more parameters of the idler roller and a processor in communication with the sensors and a wireless communication device. The sensors transmit the detected parameter data to the processor, which causes the detected parameter data to be transmitted by the wireless communication device. A monitoring system is also provided.

Controlling antenna beam generation to compensate for motion of a high-altitude platform

A method and an antenna system are provided for a high-altitude platform (HAP) configured to move in a pattern in the stratosphere to provide coverage to a region of interest and compensate for HAP movement relative to the region of interest. HAP movement is monitored. When it is determined that the HAP has moved relative to the region of interest and, based on the relative movement, a first one of a plurality of antennas in the HAP is no longer able to cover a selected portion of the region of interest, an antenna array switching circuit in the HAP is used to adjust beams transmitted by the antennas by switching to a second one of the plurality of antennas to cover the selected portion of the region of interest, such that the communication services provided to the region of interest are not interrupted due to the movement of the HAP.
