RFID INFINITY ANTENNA
An RFID antenna comprises two or more electroconductive sheets of uniform planar size, being parallel and aligned, with a space therein between. Each electroconductive sheet comprises: a feed connection point, which receives an electrical current from a feed to supply current to the electroconductive sheet; and a return connection point, opposite and parallel to the feed connection point of the electroconductive sheet, which acquires current from the electroconductive sheet and transfers current to a return. The electrical circuit pathway created from the feed to the return is equal distance for each electroconductive sheet. The two electroconductive sheets are connected together to complete a circuit that causes direction of electrical flow in the one electroconductive sheet to be opposite to direction of electric flow in the other electroconductive sheet.

The method comprises: providing structural data about the antenna to be operated, said structural data comprising data indicative of a geometry of a curved radiating surface defined by an arrangement of N antenna elements of the phased array and data indicative of said arrangement of N antenna elements; utilizing input data indicative of a selected direction of antenna operation and processing said structural data about the antenna, said processing comprising determining operational data for each of the antenna elements defining a desired radiation pattern of the antenna for said selected direction, said operational data comprising amplitude, phase and polarization of radiation for each antenna element.
Antenna device and method of generating polarized signals
An antenna device includes a first antenna unit, a second antenna unit and a third antenna unit. An angle between the second antenna unit and the first antenna unit is substantially equal to 90 degrees. An angle between the third antenna unit and the first antenna unit is substantially equal to 90 degrees. The first antenna unit and the second antenna unit are configured to generate a signal having a first polarization when the third antenna unit is turned off. The third antenna unit and the second antenna unit are configured to generate a signal having a second polarization different from the first polarization when the third antenna unit is turned off. A method of generating polarized signals is also disclosed herein.
Dual polarization patch antenna system
A switchable dual polarization patch antenna with improved cross polarization isolation to concurrently radiate horizontally polarized signals and vertically polarized signals. A planar conductor is arranged with a first terminal and a second terminal that are vertically spaced on a portion of the planar conductor to radiate a component of a vertically polarized signal with zero degrees of phase shift from one of the two terminals and radiate another component of the vertically polarized signal having a 180 degrees of phase shift from the other of the two terminals. A hybrid coupler can provide the 180 degrees of phase shift. A horizontally polarized signal is radiated from a third terminal that is horizontally spaced on another portion of the planar conductor and coupled to a horizontally polarized signal source. The direction of the 180 phase shift for the first and second components of the vertically polarized signal may be selected. Also, a direction for a phase shift for the horizontally polarized signal may be selectable.
Single-layer wide angle impedance matching (WAIM)
A single-layer Wide Angle Impedance Matching (WAIM) and method for using the same are described. In one embodiment, the antenna comprises: an aperture having a plurality of antenna elements operable to radiating radio-frequency (RF) energy; and a single-layer wide angle impedance matching (WAIM) structure coupled to the aperture to provide impedance matching between the antenna aperture and free space.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, detecting, by a monitoring system associated with a communication system, signals received at an array of orthogonally-polarized radiating elements of an antenna, causing, via a motorized drive assembly, the array of orthogonally-polarized radiating elements to sequentially rotate to a plurality of positions, obtaining, by a control system from the monitoring system and for each of the plurality of positions, data relating to signals from the array of orthogonally-polarized radiating elements, based on the data, determining, by the control system, an optimal position of the plurality of positions for the array of orthogonally-polarized radiating elements at which an impact of passive intermodulation (PIM) on the communications system is minimized, and controlling, by the control system, the motorized drive assembly to cause the array of orthogonally-polarized radiating elements to occupy the optimal position. Other embodiments are disclosed.
