A terminal fitting includes a body portion, a first projection, a resilient contact portion and a first fulcrum portion. The body portion is in the form of a rectangular tube open in a front-rear direction. The first projection projects from one wall part toward another wall part, out of two wall parts of the body portion adjacent across one corner. The resilient contact portion is arranged in the body portion. The first fulcrum portion serves as a fulcrum when the resilient contact portion is deflected and deformed. In a developed state of the terminal fitting along the front-rear direction and a width direction, one side end of the resilient contact portion is arranged on one side end part in the width direction. A tip of the first projection is arranged on another side end part in the width direction.

ASSEMBLY

An assembly comprises a cable and a connector. The cable includes at least four direct current (DC) wires. Each of the DC wires has a first coupling portion at an end thereof. The connector is attached to the cable. The connector comprises a housing and two DC contacts. The housing has two accommodating portions. The two DC contacts are arranged in a horizontal direction. The DC contacts are accommodated in the accommodating portions, respectively. Each of the DC contacts has a contact portion and a second coupling portion. The second coupling portion of each of the DC contacts is connected with the first coupling portions of at least two of the DC wires in the corresponding accommodating portion. The first coupling portions, which are connected with the second coupling portion, are arranged in parallel in the horizontal direction.

An elastic contact element of the electrical connector is provided and has an upper ring, a lower ring, and a plurality of elastic flat bodies connected to and located between the upper ring and the lower ring. Each one of the elastic flat bodies is strip-shaped and forms a contact portion. The elastic flat bodies are spaced apart from each other and divided into several groups according to different height positions of the contact portions. Each one of the contact portions protrudes toward a center axis. Because the elastic flat bodies are divided into several groups according to different height positions of the contact portions, the elastic flat bodies contact an inserted male probe at various positions.
