Split housing with integrated terminal position assurance and independent secondary lock features
A split housing connector assembly provides integrated terminal position assurance and an independent secondary lock and includes a nosepiece and a rear housing. In a pre-lock configuration, a plurality of wire terminal bays are aligned to allow insertion of wire terminals and wherein in a locked configuration the rear housing is displaced relative to the nosepiece offsetting the wire terminal bays and blocking removal of the wire terminals. The rear housing engages the nosepiece along a cam track to guide relative movement during assembly.
Electrical connector assembly having a male blade stabilizer with integrated primary lock reinforcement
An electrical connector assembly includes a connector body defining a terminal cavity therein and a male terminal projecting along a terminal axis to a tip and secured within the terminal cavity by a primary lock feature. The electrical connector assembly also includes a terminal stabilizer defining an aperture that is disposed within the connector body and is moveable from a pre-staged position to a staged position. The electrical connector assembly further includes a primary lock retaining feature that is integrated with the terminal stabilizer and is configured to engage the primary lock feature as the terminal stabilizer moves from the pre-staged position to the staged position.
System and Method for Locking Electrical Terminals
A cable inlet assembly for an inlet housing includes a cable inlet cover covering an inlet for at least one cable, and a locking element slidable between an unlocked position and a locked position. The locking element includes at least one opening adapted to receive a terminal of the at least one cable, and a first coupling element adapted to be coupled with a second coupling element of the cable inlet cover. The displacement of the cable inlet cover along a vertical direction induces a sliding of the locking element along an orthogonal direction between the unlocked position and the locked position for locking a position of the terminal.
Connector including a terminal retaining member for retaining a terminal fitting housed in a housing
A connector includes a terminal fitting, a housing that houses the terminal fitting at a housing complete position, and a terminal retaining member that, at an assembling complete position to the housing, retains the terminal fitting remaining at the housing complete position. The terminal fitting includes a penetration hole. The terminal retaining member includes a retaining protrusion that is, at the assembling complete position, inserted into the penetration hole at the housing complete position, and retains the terminal fitting while the terminal fitting remains at that position. The penetration hole is formed to have a left-right asymmetric shape including a first hole part on the left side and a second hole part having a shape different from a shape of the first hole part and arranged on the right side of the first hole part.
Contact carrier having stable detent device
A contact carrier retains a crimp contact inserted therein at a central collar of the crimp contact in a particularly stable manner and at the same time absorb the highest possible plugging forces. The contact carrier has an insulating body and a retaining plate, which can be mounted thereon on the connection side. Furthermore, the contact carrier has at least one detent element, which, in the unassembled state, can assumed both a position locking the plug contact and a position releasing the plug contact. The detent element is part of the insulating body. The retaining plate also has at least one blocking element, which, in the assembled state, fixes the detent element in the position thereof locking the plug contact and thus prevents the transition of the detent element from the locking position into the releasing position.
Contact carrier
A contact carrier receives and fixes at least one crimp contact. The contact carrier includes an insulating body and a holding plate that can be mounted on the insulating body on a connection side. The insulating body has a detent element which, in the non-mounted state, can assume both a position in which the crimp contact is latched and a position in which the crimp contact is unlatched. The holding plate has a locking element which, in the mounted state, fixes the at least one detent element in its position in which the crimp contact is latched. It thereby prevents the crimp contact from moving from the latching position to the unlatching position. The detent element is designed as a detent arm which points towards the connection side and has a detent molding for latching in a latching groove of the crimp contact.
TERMINAL
A terminal includes a terminal body and a slider. The terminal body is formed by processing a metal sheet. The terminal body is coupled to a front end of an electric wire with respect to an extending direction in which the electric wire extends. The terminal body holds the electric wire. The slider is slidable in the extending direction relative to the terminal body. The terminal body includes connecting tabs that includes contact surfaces contactable with the electric wire. Each of the connecting tabs has a cantilever shape. The slider includes pressing portions that press the connecting tabs so that the connecting tabs deform and the contact surfaces contact the electric wire when the slider is slid. The connecting tabs include burrs that are produced during processing of the metal sheet. The burrs protrude from the contact surfaces toward the electric wire.
CONNECTOR
A housing includes a plurality of cavities arranged in a width direction and housing-side engaging portions provided on both end sides in the width direction. A rear holder includes a plurality of insertion holes arranged in the width direction and communicating with the cavities, and holder-side engaging portions provided on both end sides in the width direction to contact the housing-side engaging portions. Terminals are connected to wires arranged from the insertion holes to the cavities. The housing-side engaging portions are arranged to cover the holder-side engaging portions from outside. A guide receiving portion extending in a front-rear direction is provided on an inner surface of the housing-side engaging portion. A guide portion extending in the front-rear direction and to be fit to the guide receiving portion is provided on an outer surface of the holder-side engaging portion.
