A tool string electrical transmission line connector comprising a cylinder adapted for mounting within a bore adjacent to a shoulder within the bore of a downhole tool. The cylinder comprising an inside axial side wall spaced apart from an outside axial side wall joining top and bottom surfaces. The connector further comprises an axial channel open to the outside axial side wall intersecting the bottom surface and a housing open to the outside axial side wall. The housing being open to the top surface. An electrical transmission line connector is disposed within the housing. An electrical transmission line is disposed within the axial channel and connected within the housing to an adjacent electrical transmission device. The axial channel further comprises one or more tab closures. The tab closures may comprise a clamp. When fitted into the bore, the tabs close around a cable residing within the channel.

Various embodiments of the teachings herein include a signal cable connection device comprising: a cable with a sleeve and multiple loose wires extending out from an extremity of the sleeve; a conductive metal ring crimped at the extremity so the ring and the sleeve are fixed to each other, one end of the conductive metal ring having an outward-turned flange, and a shielding wire connected to the conductive metal ring; and a housing with a cable channel defining an outer opening located at an outer side of the housing and an inner opening located at an inner side of the housing, and a threaded hole at an edge of the inner opening. When a screw is screwed into the threaded hole, the outward-turned flange of the conductive metal ring is clamped between a head of the screw and a sidewall of the inner opening.

In a state in which the cable (2) is mounted in the holding device (1), the braid (3) is arranged between the crimp sleeve (10) and the supporting sleeve (11), and the shield braid (4) is crimped between the crimp sleeve (10) and the supporting sleeve (11).

Shielded telecommunications connector

A telecommunications connector includes a connector body and a shield attached to the connector body, the shield including a main body portion configured for attachment to the connector body and a barrel portion for crimping against a cable to be terminated to the connector. The barrel portion of the shield includes a corrugated side wall made up of a series of bends extending along a direction from the rear end of the barrel toward the front end of the barrel along at least a portion of a length of the barrel, wherein the bends defining the corrugated side wall are provided on the shield at a pre-crimped stage.

The securing part includes a shape memory alloy to exist in a martensite an austenite phase depending on temperature of the securing part, wherein the securing part assumes a first pre-set shape when the temperature is below a first temperature threshold, and a second pre-set shape when the temperature is above a second temperature threshold higher than the first temperature threshold, wherein the contact or clamping force applied by the securing part in the second pre-set shape is greater than in the first pre-set shape.

A cable assembly comprising a termination with at least one conductive, compressible member and a conductive ground shield. The conductive, compressible member may be held within a connector module forming the termination such that the conductive compressive member is pressed against, and therefore makes electrical contact with, both an outer conductive layer of the cable and ground structures within the connector module. In some embodiments, these connections may be formed using a conductive, compressible member with an opening configured to receive the end of the cable therethrough. The conductive ground shield may be configured to compress the conductive, compressible member, and to cause the conductive, compressible member to electrically contact the cable's conductive layer. The conductive, compressible member may be formed from a compressible material and may comprise a plurality of conductive particulates configured to provide electrically conductive paths.
