TERMINAL MODULE WITH IMPROVED COUPLING EFFECT AND BACKPLANE CONNECTOR HAVING THE SAME
A terminal module includes a number of conductive terminals. Each conductive terminal includes a contact portion. The conductive terminals include differential signal terminals. Each differential signal terminal includes a first extending portion, a torsion portion, and a second extending portion perpendicular to the first extending portion. The differential signal terminals include a first signal terminal and a second signal terminal. Most of the two first extending portions of the differential signal terminals are narrow-side coupled, and small parts are wide-side coupled. The second extending portions of the differential signal terminals are narrow-sided coupled. The present disclosure also discloses a backplane connector having the terminal module. Compared with the prior art, the present disclosure can make the differential signal terminals tightly coupled, thereby stabilizing the insertion loss.

HIGH PERFORMANCE CARD EDGE CONNECTOR FOR HIGH BANDWIDTH TRANSMISSION
A card edge connector for high bandwidth transmission. The connector may include a housing having a groove between two walls. The walls may include slots holding terminals of the connector. The terminals of the connector may each include a mating contact portion, a mounting contact portion opposite the mating contact portion, a bearing portion extending from the mounting contact portion and fixed in the housing, and a beam extending from the bearing portion. The beams may be configured to flex when the mating contact portions make contact with pads on a card. The terminals may each include a curved transition portion between the mating contact portion and the beam so as to prevent the beam from touching the card. The housing may include holes through the walls between mating contact portions of selected adjacent terminals. Such a configuration reduces impedance mismatch at the mating interface and therefore improve signal integrity.
Electrical connector having an outer conductor and a rear metallic plate secured to the outer conductor and a terminal with a protrusion exposed to air and spaced a predetermined distance from the rear metallic plate
An electrical connector includes: an insulator; a terminal secured in the insulator and having a front mating portion, a tail portion, and an intermediate portion; an outer conductor receiving the insulator; and a rear metallic plate secured to the outer conductor, wherein the terminal intermediate portion includes a vertical part having a protrusion exposing rearwardly to air and spaced a predetermined distance from the rear metallic plate.
Backplane connector with improved shielding effect
A backplane connector includes a wafer and a mounting block. The wafer includes a number of conductive terminals, an insulating frame, a first metal shield and a second metal shield. The conductive terminal includes a contact portion, a tail portion and a connection portion. The conductive terminals include differential signal terminals, a first ground terminal and a second ground terminal. The first metal shield includes a first protruding piece. The second metal shield includes a second protruding piece. The mounting block includes a slot for passing through the tail portions of the differential signal terminals. The first protruding piece and the second protruding piece are at least partially inserted into the slot. This arrangement can provide better shielding adjacent to the tail portions of the differential signal terminals, reduce crosstalk, and improve the quality of signal transmission.
PADDLE CARD HAVING SHORTENED SIGNAL CONTACT PADS
A substrate configured to be mated with an electrical connector having improved performance data is achieved by reducing the length of the electrical signal contact pads of the substrate with respect to the length of electrical signal contact pads of conventional substrates that are configured to be mated with the electrical connector.
