The bonding washer includes an electrically conductive body and at least one piercing member extending from a bottom surface of the body. An extended member extends from the electrically conductive body in a direction away from the bottom surface of the body.
ELECTRICAL WIRING DEVICE WITH FLEXIBLE TERMINAL FOR ELIMINATING CONNECTION TO GROUND
An electrical wiring system providing selectable referencing to earth ground, comprising: a housing comprising a first terminal for attachment to HOT, a second terminal for attachment to LOAD, and a flexible terminal comprising a first leg mounted to the electrical wiring device and a second leg connected to the first leg via a flexible joint, wherein the relative distance between the first leg and the second leg is adjustable between an extended position and a retracted position by flexing the flexible joint, the flexible joint being biased in the extended position, wherein the first leg defines a first aperture and the second leg defines a second aperture, a load control circuit disposed within the housing and receiving a line input from the first terminal and a reference input, the reference input being referenced to the electric potential of the flexible terminal; a screw having a screw head, the screw being inserted through the first aperture and the second aperture; and a pressure plate having a threaded aperture, the threaded aperture being engaged with the threads of the screw, the pressure plate and the screw head being disposed on opposite sides of the flexible terminal such that advancing the pressure plate along the threads of the screw toward the head of the screw draws the flexible terminal from the extended position toward the retracted position.
Fastening system for an electrical transmission line repair device
A fastening system has a conditioner clamp and a penetrating fastener. The conditioner clamp has an upper assembly and a lower assembly attachable together to define a conductor cavity therebetween. At least one threaded opening provides ingress into the conductor cavity. The penetrating fastener is extendable through the at least one threaded opening. The penetrating fastener has a threaded bolt and a penetrating portion with a proximal end at a second end region of the threaded bolt and a distal end spaced therefrom. The penetrating portion has a frustoconical configuration terminating at a tip portion. The tip portion is configured to penetrate into a conductor positioned within the conductor cavity.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR WITH FULL-MATE INDICATOR
An electrical connector includes a connector shell, a coupling nut, and an indicator surrounding the connector shell. The indicator includes a clamp member and a check member. The clamp member includes a ring and a coupling structure extending from the ring to the check member and coupling the ring to the check member. The indicator may assist a user in determining if the electrical connector is in a fully-mated state.
Electrical connector and bonding system
An electrical connection system includes a mounting stud having a base configured for mounting to a conductive surface. One or more one ring-shaped lugs, formed of an electrically conductive material, are configured for being positioned on the mounting stud for surrounding the mounting stud. The ring-shaped lug includes one or a plurality of interior channels extending around the inside diameter thereof. A contact spring is seated within a respective interior channel and is electrically conductive and dimensioned to extend radially inwardly from the channel and contact the mounting stud when the ring-shaped lug is positioned thereon. The contact spring is configured to at least partially collapse in the radial direction and to provide a spring bias against the mounting stud for providing an electrical connection between the ring-shaped lug and mounting stud. A locking cap is positioned on the mounting stud over the at least one ring-shaped lug for locking with the mounting stud and securing the ring-shaped lugs on the mounting stud for a secure electrical connection.
Coaxial cable connectors having port grounding
A coaxial cable connector includes a body configured to engage a coaxial cable having a conductive electrical grounding property, a post configured to engage the body and the coaxial cable when the connector is installed on the coaxial cable, a nut configured to engage an interface port at a retention force, and a conductive insert received inside the nut. The conductive insert is configured to increase the retention force between the nut and the interface port so as to provide an electrical ground connection between the interface port and the nut when the nut is in a loosely tightened position on the interface port, and/or the conductive insert is configured to make the electrical ground connection with the interface port before a center conductor of the coaxial cable makes an electrical connection with an internal contact of the interface port when the nut is coupled with the interface port.
BUS BAR ASSEMBLY WITH PLATED ELECTRICAL CONTACT SURFACE
A bus bar assembly includes a bus bar formed of a first electrically conductive material having a planar contact portion. The bus bar defines a first bore extending through the contact portion. The bus bar assembly further includes a contact insert formed of a second electrically conductive material that has a greater hardness than the first electrically conductive material. The contact insert defines a first surface that is mechanically and electrically connected to the contact portion of the bus bar. The contact insert defines a second surface this is plated with a third electrically conductive material which is different than the second electrically conductive material. The contact insert defines a smooth second bore coaxial with the first bore and extending from the first surface to the second surface.
Safety grounded artificial tree stand
An apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus has a decorative assembly stand having a cavity, a decorative assembly member that is configured to be removably received in the cavity, a coating that coats a surface of the decorative assembly member, a power socket including an electrical ground line, and a fastener. The electrical ground line is configured to be electrically connected to a surface of the decorative assembly stand. The fastener is configured to be received in an aperture of the decorative assembly stand and cut through the coating of the decorative assembly member and contact the surface of the decorative assembly member when the decorative assembly member is received in the cavity of the decorative assembly stand.
Connection Arrangement and Method for Connecting a Connection Arrangement to a Component
A connection arrangement comprising a metallic flat conductor having an at least quadrangular cross-sectional profile and at least two opposing surfaces extending longitudinally parallel to each other at least in an end region, a first through-opening between the surfaces in the end region, the first through-opening being formed for receiving a bolt, at least one second through-opening between the surfaces in the end region, the second through-opening being formed to receive a metallic terminal, the terminal being formed as a flat part and bearing flatly with a contact surface against one of the surfaces of the flat conductor in the end region.
