Terminal and wire with terminal

A terminal of the present disclosure is the terminal to be connected to a wire including a core and includes a terminal body and a sliding portion. The terminal body includes a sandwiching portion. The sliding portion is slidable in a front-rear direction between a partial locking position and a full locking position. The sliding portion includes a pressurizing portion configured to press the sandwiching portion at the full locking position to sandwich the core in a first direction by the sandwiching portion, at least a pair of first contact portions configured to contact the core in the first direction when the core is inserted into the sliding portion, and at least a pair of second contact portions configured to contact the core in a second direction intersecting the first direction when the core is inserted into the sliding portion.

CONNECTOR ARRANGEMENT

A connector assembly for an electrical connection, the connector assembly includes a plug and a socket. The plug includes a connector and a frame. The connector has a solid core conductor, the solid core conductor has an end portion. The frame surrounds the solid core conductor except for the end portion. The end portion is deformed to overlap the frame. The socket includes a socket conductor and a receiving portion into which the plug engages. The end portion directly contacts the socket conductor to form an electrical contact and causes the frame to deflect and provide a bias to force the end portion and the socket conductor into direct contact with one another.

Frangible shunt link and assembly

A frangible shunt link assembly includes a frangible link configured to conductively couple a current collector coupled with a vehicle and one or more components of the vehicle. The frangible link is configured to break responsive to the current collector being at least partially separated from the vehicle to interrupt a conductive connection between the current collector and the one or more components of the vehicle.

PORTED HARDWARE FOR OVERHEAD ELECTRICAL CABLES

Electrical line hardware such as termination arrangements and splices for use with overhead electrical cables that enable the interrogation of the overhead electrical cables through the hardware. The hardware includes at least one port to facilitate access to the strength member of the electrical cable so that interrogation instruments may operatively couple to the strength member and to interrogation elements such as optical fibers associated with the strength member. The interrogation may occur after the overhead electrical cable has been fully tensioned and secured by the hardware, e.g., secured to a support tower.

TERMINAL AND ELECTRIC CABLE INCLUDING TERMINAL

A terminal to be coupled to a front end portion of an electric wire. The terminal includes a terminal body and a slider. The terminal body includes a holding section holding a core wire of the electric wire. The slider is movable in a front-rear direction between a first position and a second position that is on a front side with respect to the first position while the slider being fitted on a section of the terminal body including the holding section. The slider includes a pressing portion that presses the holding section toward the electric wire when the slider is at the second position. The slider includes a pressure receiving portion that is pushed from a rear side to move the slider from the first position to the second position. The slider includes a support portion that receives a force applied to the pressure receiving portion that is pushed.

Connector with captive interface

Wedge type electrical connector assemblies adapted to electrically and mechanically connect conductors within transmission and/or distribution circuits is provided. The wedge type electrical connector assembly includes a frame, an interface and a wedge assembly. The interface is coupled to the frame so that it is movable relative to the frame. The interface can move and flex when installing conductors into the wedge type electrical connector assemblies.

Terminations for electrical wiring devices

The present disclosure provides cam activated wire termination assemblies for electrical wiring devices. The electrical wiring devices include a cover and a base. The base has a wire chamber supporting a wire termination assembly. The wire termination assembly includes a wire fastening member and a conductive member. The wire fastening member has a cam surface and is rotatable between an open position and a securing position. The conductive member is positioned in close proximity to the wire fastening member such that a gap is provided between the wire fastening member and the conductive member when the wire fastening member is in the open position. When the wire fastening member is rotated from the open position to the securing position, the cam surface rotates to reduce the size of the gap between the wire fastening member and the conductive member.
