Self-lubricating connector
A self-lubricating connector with a housing having a contact receiving cavity with a contact provided therein. A lubricating device is positioned in the housing proximate the contact. The lubricating device extends into the contact receiving cavity and has lubricant provided therein. The lubricant from the lubricating device is deposited or on the outside surface of the contact as the contact is moved between the first position and the second position, reducing wear on the contacts as the contacts are moved between the first position and the second position.
Splice assembly and brush for same
A splice assembly for engaging a conductor includes a brush configured to engage the conductor. The brush includes a housing having a first portion and a second portion. The housing defines a housing axis extending between the first portion and the second portion. The first portion defines a cavity having an open end. The second portion defines a bore. A diameter of the cavity is larger than a diameter of the bore. The cavity and the bore are configured to receive the conductor therethrough. The brush further includes a brush member secured within the cavity and positioned proximate the open end.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLING AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY
An electrical connector for an electrical cable having a contact element for connection to an electrical conductor of the electrical cable. The electrical connector has an integrated cleaning tool for the electrical conductor. The cleaning tool is arranged along a feed direction for the electrical cable on the cable side upstream of the contact element. It is provided that the cleaning tool is designed to remove or at least retain particles, residues of a sheathing and/or contaminants adhering to the electrical conductor before the electrical conductor contacts the contact element of the electrical connector arranged downstream in the feed direction within the scope of a connector assembly process.
System and method for repairing a generator main lead
A turbogenerator includes a stator core defining a first end and a second end, a plurality of stator bars disposed within the stator core, each stator bar including a coolant flow path, and a parallel ring having a first segment and a second segment separate from the first segment. The parallel ring is coupled to the first end of the stator core and is arranged to electrically connect the plurality of stator bars and to fluidly connect the coolant flow paths of the plurality of stator bars. A tang includes a main chamber, a first coolant opening, a second coolant opening, and a distribution channel that fluidly interconnects the main chamber, the first coolant opening, and the second coolant opening. A first lead tube has a first lead end connected to the first coolant opening and a second lead end connected to the first segment, and a second lead tube separate from the first lead tube has a first lead end connected to the second coolant opening and a second lead end connected to the second segment. The plurality of stator bars, the parallel ring, the tang, the first lead tube, and the second lead tube cooperate to define a portion of a circuit and a portion of a cooling path.
Power connector with integrated status monitoring
An electrical power system including an electrical power connector, a contact configured to electrically connect a power supply to a load, a first sensor configured to sense a first characteristic of the electrical power connector, a second sensor configured to sense a second characteristic of the electrical power connector, and an electronic controller. The electronic controller configured to receive a first signal indicative of the first characteristic, receive a second signal indicative of the second characteristic, compare the first signal to a first threshold, compare the second signal to a second threshold, and dynamically adjust at least one selected from a group consisting of the first threshold and the second threshold. Wherein the dynamic adjustment is based on at least one selected from a group consisting of a measured or calculated parameter, an installation condition, an operational limit, a known operational behavior, and parameter threshold information.
Slip ring assembly
The disclosure relates to a slip ring assembly, which has a slip ring body and at least one slip ring arranged on the slip ring body and a contact module having contact elements. The contact elements contact a slideway of the slip ring. A cleaning device is provided for cleaning the slideway. According to the disclosure, the cleaning device has a cleaning brush having a brush filling contacting the slideway.
Repair electrical plug adapter
The repair electrical plug adapter is a replacement kit. The repair electrical plug adapter is used to repair one or more damaged NEMA 5-15 electric sockets. The repair electrical plug adapter comprises a housing and a plurality of NEMA 5-15 electric sockets. The repair electrical plug adapter is configured for use with a cable and a national electric grid. The plurality of NEMA 5-15 electric sockets attach to the housing. The plurality of NEMA 5-15 electric sockets replace the one or more damaged NEMA 5-15 electric sockets that are attached to the cable. The cable electrically connects the housing and the plurality of NEMA 5-15 electric sockets to the national electric grid. The national electric grid is a commercially available source of electric energy that is defined elsewhere in this disclosure.
Probe for characteristic inspection of a connector
A probe for characteristic inspection of a connector includes a plunger, a coaxial cable, a flange, and a housing having an end portion on one side including an increased diameter portion. A recessed portion which receives the increased diameter portion is in an upper surface of the flange. The increased diameter portion has side walls in contact with or facing respective inner side surfaces of the flange partly, with the inner side surfaces forming the recessed portion, and a bottom wall in contact with an upper recessed surface of the flange that forms the recessed portion. The increased diameter portion has connection surfaces connecting the bottom and side walls and inclined inward from one of the side walls toward the bottom wall. Alternatively, the inner side surfaces each have a first surface inclined downward, and a vertical surface extending downward from the first surface to the upper recessed surface.
