Bonding resistance and electromagnetic interference management of a surface mounted connector
A first component, such as an electrical connector, can be mechanically connected to a second component, such as a surface, and separately electrically bonded to the second component using a third component, such as foil. The third component can be ultrasonically welded to the first component and separately ultrasonically welded to the second component. In some cases, multiple third components can be utilized to cover a seam between the first and second components.
TERMINAL, TERMINAL-EQUIPPED ELECTRIC WIRE, CONNECTION STRUCTURE, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF TERMINAL-EQUIPPED ELECTRIC WIRE
A terminal-equipped electric wire includes a terminal to be electrically connected to a connection target member, and an electric wire to be connected to the terminal by ultrasonic joining. The terminal includes a joint portion to be connected to the electric wire, a connection portion to be connected to the connection target member, and a plating layer on a surface of the terminal. The connection portion has an uneven shape on at least a part of a surface thereof. When the terminal-equipped electric wire is connected to the connection target member, an insulating coating of the plating layer covering at least a part of the surface of the connection portion is broken.
Device and method for soldering contact elements with induction heat
A device for inductively soldering at least one ferromagnetic contact element to at least one conductor structure on a nonmetallic plate, includes a system for fastening a plate during the soldering operation, at least one soldering tool having at least one induction loop or induction coil suitable for emitting a magnetic field, a system for mutually positioning the soldering tool and the contact element such that the switched-on magnetic field of the soldering tool reliably heats the ferromagnetic contact element and thus the solder joint, a generator that is suitable for generating an alternating voltage with a frequency of up to 1500 kHz and that can be connected to the induction loop or induction coil.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ELECTRICAL CONNECTION ARRANGEMENT, AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTION ARRANGEMENT
A method for producing an electrical connection arrangement includes: providing an electrical connection device having a base body that has a recess for accommodating a marking label; providing the marking label; inserting the marking label into the recess; and establishing an integrally-bonded and/or form-fitting connection between the marking label and the base body by ultrasonic welding.
Apparatus to determine quality of termination of wire using thermal characteristics
A wire terminating apparatus and method which allows for determining the quality of a wire termination. The method includes terminating the wire, monitoring the thermal properties of the termination with one or more thermal sensors and comparing the monitored thermal properties to stored thermal properties to determine if the termination is defective. If the termination is defective, the termination is discarded. The apparatus includes a wire termination zone. A thermal sensor is mounted on the wire terminating apparatus proximate the wire termination zone. The thermal sensor monitors the thermal properties of the termination to determine if the termination is defective.
Dual cam servo weld splicer
An ultrasonic welding apparatus joins metal pieces, such as wires, which are placed in a weldment zone where the metal pieces are subjected to pressure through a compressive height anvil and an adjustable width anvil, and intimate contact is made with a sonotrode of an ultrasonic stack. A first electric motor actuates movement of the height anvil to develop a compressive force for ultrasonic welding of the metal pieces. A second electric motor can position the width anvil before and during welding. A sensor, such as a load cell, measures the compressive force developed. The sensor directly can measure the load on the height anvil independent of the ultrasonic stack. A software algorithm can compensate for deflection of the load cell sensor and lost motion in the first electric motor actuating movement.
Terminal-wire bonding method and bonded terminal-wire
A terminal-wire bonding method includes: arranging a first core at a second end of a first terminal-wire having a first terminal connected with the first core exposed from an insulating sheath at a first end, onto a side of an anvil and a second core at a second end of a second terminal-wire having a second terminal connected with the second core exposed, at a first end, from an insulating sheath longer than the insulating sheath of the first terminal-wire, onto a side of a horn; and bonding the first core at the second end and the second core at the second end together by ultrasonic bonding between the horn and the anvil.
Splice connector
A splice connector assembly configured to conduct more than 1 kilowatt of electricity includes a terminal having a connection portion configured to interconnect with a corresponding mating terminal. The terminal also has an attachment portion. The attachment portion has a planar shape. The attachment portion is attached to a first wire electrical cable and is also attached to a second wire electrical cable. The first cable has a different cross-sectional area than the second cable. The splice connector assembly also includes a dielectric housing defining a cavity in which the terminal is disposed.
ULTRASONIC WELDING DEVICE WITH DISPLACEABLE STOP ELEMENT
An ultrasonic welding device includes a sonotrode, an anvil, a touching element, a lateral slide, a first stop element, a drive device, and a receiving chamber in which joining partners are to be received. The receiving chamber is defined on a first side by a surface of the sonotrode and on a second side opposing the first side by a surface of the anvil. The receiving chamber is further defined on a third side by a surface of the touching element and on a fourth side opposing the third side by a surface of the lateral slide. The first stop element is displaceable between a pulled-in position and a pulled-out position. The first stop element in the pulled-in position defines the receiving chamber on a fifth side extending transverse to the first to fourth sides and in the pulled-out position leaves the receiving chamber open on the fifth side.
ELECTRIC CONNECTOR
The disclosure relates to an electrical plug connector, comprising two housing parts, which are connected in a sealing manner on flat contact surfaces. A first housing part is, on its contact surface, equipped with an annular sealing edge directed at the opposite housing part. A second housing part is, on its contact surface, equipped with an annular seal corresponding to the sealing edge. The housing parts may be unreleasably connected to one another at multiple locations radially outside the seal and the sealing edge.
