WIRE ASSEMBLY WITH WELDED CONTACT
A wire assembly includes a cable and a contact. The wire includes at least an inner conductor and an insulating jacket surrounding the inner conductor, wherein a tip of the inner conductor is exposed at a first end. The contact is welded to the tip of the inner conductor at the first end.
Apparatus to determine quality of termination of wire using thermal characteristics
A wire terminating apparatus and method which allows for determining the quality of a wire termination. The method includes terminating the wire, monitoring the thermal properties of the termination with one or more thermal sensors and comparing the monitored thermal properties to stored thermal properties to determine if the termination is defective. If the termination is defective, the termination is discarded. The apparatus includes a wire termination zone. A thermal sensor is mounted on the wire terminating apparatus proximate the wire termination zone. The thermal sensor monitors the thermal properties of the termination to determine if the termination is defective.
Biocompatible electromechanical connection for ceramic substrate electronics for biomedical implant
A biocompatible electrical connection includes: a substrate; a ferrule having a concentric flange at a first end of the ferrule; a first adhesive; and a second adhesive. The substrate includes a hole having a diameter that is a specified amount larger than an outside diameter of the ferrule forming an annular space between the hole and the ferrule, the first adhesive adheres a first surface of the concentric flange of the ferrule to a first surface of the substrate, and the second adhesive fills the annular space between the hole and the ferrule.
BIOCOMPATIBLE ELECTROMECHANICAL CONNECTION FOR CERAMIC SUBSTRATE ELECTRONICS FOR BIOMEDICAL IMPLANT
A biocompatible electrical connection includes a substrate; a ferrule having a concentric flange at a first end of the ferrule; a first adhesive; and a second adhesive. The first adhesive adheres a first surface of the concentric flange of the ferrule to a surface of the substrate. The second adhesive fills an annular space between a hole in the substrate and the ferrule. The first adhesive or the second adhesive forms a conductive path on the surface of the substrate between the ferrule and a circuit pattern on the substrate.
Tool for soldering an electrical conductor with a connection device
A tool for soldering an electrical conductor with a connection device includes a deformation unit plastically deforming the connection device around the electrical conductor. The deformation unit has a fixed deformation module and a movable deformation module that is movable with respect to the fixed deformation module. The fixed deformation module has an anvil with an electrical contact area on which the electrical conductor and the connection device are disposed. An electric current circulates through the electrical conductor and the connection device by passing through an electrically conductive first part of the anvil that is electrically insulated from a rest of the anvil.
Resistance welding methods and apparatus
Disclosed is a method of resistance welding between composite articles. A conductive element is provided between faying surfaces, having a plurality of lower resistivity electrode portions spaced apart along the length of the contact area between the composite articles. The electrode portions can be used to spot weld across the electrode portions, and along a longitudinal portion of the conductive element between the electrode portions by application of an electrical current. Also disclosed are apparatus for use in the resistance welding methods and composite articles and structures and elements incorporating the conductive element.
CONNECTOR AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING CONNECTOR
A connector includes a terminal, an electric wire, and a housing having a tubular portion that accommodates the terminal and the electric wire therein. An electric wire connection portion and a terminal connection portion are provided on both end sides of the terminal. The electric wire connection portion is connected to the electric wire. A joining portion between an end surface of the electric wire connection portion and an end surface of the electric wire includes a protruding piece protruding in a radial direction of the electric wire connection portion. A first retaining piece and a second retaining piece configured to be locked to the protruding piece are provided on an inner peripheral surface of the tubular portion. The second retaining piece is disposed at a position shifted from the first retaining piece in both a circumferential direction and an axial direction of the tubular portion.
Vehicle glass window with electrical connector soldered by lead-free solder
A vehicle window glass comprises a glass substrate layer, an electrically conductive layer forming a conductive pattern over the glass substrate, a lead-free solder layer on the conductive layer and a metal plate element of an electrical connector on the solder layer. Optionally a coloured ceramic band layer is sintered between the glass substrate layer and the conductive layer. The thickness of the metal plate element is between 0.5 mm and 0.7 mm.
Electrical Conductor and Method for Manufacturing an Electrical Conductor
An electrical conductor comprising a flat conductor formed of a solid metallic material, the flat conductor having at least two opposite broad sides, two opposite narrow sides and two opposite end sides and having an at least quadrangular cross-sectional profile, and a flexible conductor formed of a plurality of strands, the strands of the flexible conductor being at least partially joined to one another in a materially bonded manner in the region of at least one end of the flexible conductor, characterized in that the flexible conductor, at its end with the joined strands, is joined in a materially bonded manner with its end face to an end face, a narrow side or broad side of the flat conductor.
Brazed ground terminal for non-ferrous vehicle components
A method of manufacturing a grounding connection is disclosed that comprises assembling a non-ferrous grounding connector to a non-ferrous part, and melting brazing material between the grounding connector and the part to secure the grounding connector to the part. The step of assembling the connector to the part may be performed by clinching the connector to the part. The ground connector may comprise a nut secured to the vehicle body by a clinch joint and a deposit of braze metal applied to the nut at the location of the clinch joint. Alternatively, the ground connector for a vehicle body may comprise a nut defining an opening for receiving a fastener and a deposit of brazing material attaching the nut to the vehicle body.
