INTERFEROMETRIC GAIN LASER DEVICE
A laser device configured to emit a coherent optical radiation is provided. The laser device has an amplifier system having a single interferometric optical amplification arrangement or a plurality of interferometric optical amplification arrangements in series, an optical return path of an optical beam emerging from the amplifier system and entering the amplifier system to form an optical ring resonant structure, and a radiation output for extracting a portion of the optical beam emerging from the amplifier system and deliver the extracted portion of the optical beam emerging from the amplifier system as output laser radiation of the laser device.

A laser device (100), being configured for generating laser pulses by Ken lens based mode locking, comprises a laser resonator (10) with a plurality of resonator mirrors (11.1, 11.2, 11.3) spanning a resonator beam path (12), a solid state gain medium (20) being arranged in the laser resonator (10), a Kerr medium device (30) being arranged with a distance from the gain medium (20) in the laser resonator (10), wherein the Kerr medium device (30) includes at least one Ken medium being arranged in a focal range of the resonator beam path and being configured for forming the laser pulses by the nonlinear Kerr effect, and a loss-modulation device (31, 32) having a modulator medium, which is capable of modulating a power loss of the laser pulses generated in the laser resonator (10), wherein the Kerr medium device (30) includes the modulator medium of the loss-modulation device (31, 32) as the at least one Kerr medium having an optical non-linearity being adapted for both of creating the Kerr lens based mode-locking in the laser resonator and modulating the power loss in the laser resonator. Furthermore, a method of generating laser pulses by Kerr lens based mode locking is described, wherein a loss-modulation device (31, 32) is used for both of introducing a Ken effect in the laser resonator (10) and modulating the power loss.

Apparatus for providing optical radiation (15), which apparatus comprises an optical input (13), a coupler (2), a first semiconductor amplifier (3), a controller (4), a preamplifier (61), a power amplifier (62) and an output fibre (5), wherein: the optical input (13) is for receiving input optical radiation (14); the optical input (13) is connected in series to the coupler (2), the first semiconductor amplifier (3), the preamplifier (61), the power amplifier (62), and the output fibre (5); the apparatus being characterized in that: the first semiconductor amplifier (3) comprises a waveguide (6) having a low reflecting facet (8); the first semiconductor amplifier (3) is in a double pass configuration such that the low reflecting facet (8) is connected to both the optical input (13) and the preamplifier (61) via the coupler (2); and the controller (4) is configured to cause the waveguide (6) of the first semiconductor amplifier (3) to operate in saturation thereby enabling the first semiconductor amplifier (3) to reduce non-linear effects in the preamplifier (61), the power amplifier (62), and the output fibre (5).
Femtosecond pulse laser apparatus
A femtosecond pulse laser apparatus includes a pump light source configured to provide a pump light, a gain medium configured to obtain a gain of a laser light using the pump light, a first curved mirror and a second curved mirror, which are provided at both sides of the gain medium, an output mirror configured to transmit a portion of the laser light and reflect the other portion of the laser light to the gain medium, a mode locking portion configured to generate a femtosecond pulse of the laser light, and an acoustic wave generator configured to provide an acoustic wave into the gain medium so as to adjust self-phase modulation of the laser light.
Compact coaxial laser
A compact laser system with a folded annular resonator cavity defined by spherical mirrors (17, 18), enabling the generation of a multipass beam path between the mirrors, each beam pass inclined at a small angle to the axis between the mirrors to form a zig-zag path (28, 29) therebetween. A long optical path is achieved within a short physical structure. The optical resonator cavity is confined in the gap between two cylindrical coaxial electrodes (13, 14) receiving RF power to excite the lasing gas. Apertures (23) are provided in the main cavity mirrors (17, 18), with a high reflectivity end mirror (24) behind one aperture at one end and a partially reflective output coupler (25) at the other end. A channeled ceramic cylindrical element (15, 20) within the annular shaped gap between the two cylindrical electrodes confines the lasing gas to the channels (16).
ULTRAVIOLET LASER APPARATUS
An ultraviolet laser apparatus includes: a semiconductor laser that emits an excitation laser light; a fiber laser medium to which the excitation laser light enters from the semiconductor laser and that causes laser oscillation; and an external resonator that: converts a wavelength of a laser light oscillated in the fiber laser medium, and outputs an ultraviolet region continuous wave of at least 0.1W.
ULTRAVIOLET LASER APPARATUS
An ultraviolet laser apparatus includes: a semiconductor laser that emits an excitation laser light; a fiber laser medium to which the excitation laser light enters from the semiconductor laser and that causes laser oscillation; and an external resonator that: converts a wavelength of a laser light oscillated in the fiber laser medium, and outputs an ultraviolet region continuous wave of at least 0.1W.
LASER AMPLIFIER APPARATUS AND METHOD OF AMPLIFYING LASER PULSES
Laser amplifier apparatus 100 includes gain medium 10 for receiving seed pulse(s) 2 and pump pulse(s) 3 and for emitting laser pulse(s) 1, resonator device 20 including gain medium and resonator mirrors spanning resonator beam path 25 with multi-pass geometry, coupler arrangement 30 for coupling seed pulse(s) and pump pulse(s) to resonator device and coupling output laser pulse(s) out of resonator device, and gain medium cooling device 40A. Resonator mirrors include first and second telescope mirrors 21, 22 with mutual distance and common focal section therebetween and defining optical axis z of resonator device, and first and second groups of end mirrors 23, 24 between mirrors 21 and 22 for forming path 25, wherein end mirrors are on ring-shaped section surrounding optical axis z, and resonator are arranged such that emitting sections of the gain medium are imaged in themselves. A method of amplifying laser pulses is also described.
LIGHT SOURCE APPARATUS AND INSPECTION APPARATUS
A decrease of an output of a wavelength converted light converted by a nonlinear optical crystal is suppressed. A light source apparatus according to the present disclosure includes a fundamental wave light source configured to generate a fundamental wave which is a continuous oscillation laser beam, an external cavity including a plurality of optical mirrors, a nonlinear optical crystal installed inside the external cavity and configured to generate a light with a wavelength shorter than that of the fundamental wave. The light source apparatus includes at least one phase modulator disposed between the fundamental wave light source and the external cavity and configured to modulate the fundamental wave by a modulation frequency of an integer multiple of a resonance frequency interval of the external cavity.
METHOD AND LASER FOR BREAKING LIMITATION OF FLUORESCENCE SPECTRUM ON LASER WAVELENGTH
A method and a laser for breaking through the limitation of fluorescence spectrum on laser wavelength is disclosed. The method includes: exciting electrons to a high energy level by pump light, and suppressing an oscillation of radiation light by laser cavity coating, using a laser resonance to enhance a transition probability of an electron-phonon coupling from the high energy level to a multi-phonon coupling level, so as to realize the emission and enhancement of breakthrough fluorescence spectrum and realize the radiation light oscillation, wherein the laser cavity includes an incident mirror, a folding mirror, a tuning element and an exit mirror arranged in sequence along an optical path direction, the laser gain medium is located between an incident mirror and a folding mirror in the laser resonator, and the tuning element is arranged in the laser cavity at a Brewster angle.
