An enclosure for electrical installations includes a bottom and a cover fastened to the bottom by a fastening device including a latch which, supported by a bearing, is turnable in relation to the bottom to open/close the fastening device. An arm is bearing-mounted to the latch. The cover has a detent to receive the arm and to fasten the cover to the bottom by the arm. The detent is located in a recess formed in an edge of the cover. Attached to the arm there is a cover piece to attach to the detent in the recess of the cover. The cover piece includes first and second outer surfaces which at the recess of the cover make the outer surfaces of the cover uniform, such that the discontinuities formed by the recess of the cover on its top and side surfaces are concealed.

The plurality of main switchgear or control gear components are housed in the at least one first compartment. The plurality of auxiliary switchgear or control gear components are housed in the at least one second compartment. When one or more of the plurality of main switchgear or control gear components is energized, the at least one first compartment is hermetically sealable or maintainable at an internal air pressure greater than ambient air pressure.

A short-circuit induction conductor is provided on at least one of the input conductor on a side opposite to the fuse and the flapper portion, the short-circuit induction conductor protruding toward the other of the input conductor and the flapper portion.

An electrical panel adapter for an enclosure that is formed of at least one panel includes a main unit having a front portion and a rear portion. The rear portion is positioned inside the enclosure and includes a first plurality of electrical connections adapted to connect to electrical wires and/or equipment located inside the enclosure. The front portion extends through an aperture in the at least one panel and includes a second plurality of electrical connections adapted to connect to one or more electrical devices located outside the enclosure for measurement of both voltage and current inside the enclosure. The second plurality of electrical connections are electrically coupled to the first plurality of electrical connections. The electrical panel adapter enables electrical devices outside the enclosure to be electrically coupled to the electrical wires and/or equipment inside the enclosure without requiring the enclosure to be opened.
