Method For Removing A Cable Film

A method for easy, safe and fast removal of a section of a cable film. An end section of a cable has a cable axis, wherein the cable includes a cable jacket and at least one electrically conductive conductor structure and which includes a cable film made from a plastic and applied into one of the conductor structures. A defined damaged region is generated by inductively heating at least that conductor structure on which the cable film is applied such that the cable film applied onto the heated conductor structure is at least partially thermally damaged in the damaged region. The cable film is moved relative to one of the conductor structures, wherein a crack is formed by the relative movement in the damaged region that separates the section of the cable film to be removed from a section of the cable film remaining on the cable.

Method of Removing Foil Shield from Cable

A system for removing a foil shield from a cable comprises an induction coil for inductively heating the foil shield of the cable, a cable feeding device for selectively passing the cable through the induction coil, a cutting blade for selectively removing at least a portion of the cable, and a sensor for detecting at least one characteristic of the cable.

Method for stripping part of a shielding foil of a sheathed cable and foil removing device for stripping part of a shielding foil of a sheathed cable from the sheathed cable at a predetermined breaking point

A method for stripping a part of a shielding foil of a sheathed cable includes the following steps: provide the sheathed cable with the shielding foil that has a predetermined breaking point running along a circumference of the shielding foil; bend a subarea of the sheathed cable with the shielding foil in a first direction to apply a tearing stress at the predetermined breaking point that tears the shielding foil on a part of the circumference of the shielding foil; move a first part of the sheathed cable in an elliptical, particularly circular, movement to apply the tearing stress across essentially the entire circumference of the shielding foil, so that the shielding foil tears at the predetermined breaking point across the entire circumference of the shielding foil; and remove from the sheathed cable the part of the shielding foil that was stripped from the sheathed cable.

Method of removing foil shield from cable

A method of removing a foil shield from a cable. The method includes: positioning the cable proximate a heating source; heating the foil shield in a designated area to weaken the foil shield; and removing an outer insulation of the cable and the foil shield after the foil shield has been heated.

The invention relates to a method for removing an exposed shielding of a cable, according to which a cutting tool is advanced into a cutting position on an outer surface of the shielding. It is provided that a gaseous medium is injected into the cable in order to apply a radially outwardly acting force to the shielding, in such a manner that the shielding is incised by a cuter of the cutting tool.
