The hybrid motor includes a hollow rotor that includes conductor bars configured to form an annular shape at a position spaced apart from a rotation axis by a predetermined first distance and a synchronous motor equivalent that is disposed in an annular shape at a position spaced apart from the rotation axis by a predetermined second distance, an induction stator that includes induction stator windings positioned on a first radial side of the hollow rotor, and a synchronous stator that includes synchronous stator windings positioned on a second radial side of the hollow rotor.

Method and system for brushless wound field synchronous machines

An electric machine includes a stator having a stator winding disposed thereon. A rotor is electromagnetically exposed to the stator. A field winding and an induction winding are disposed on the rotor. A rectifier is electrically coupled to the induction winding and the field winding. Upon application of a voltage to the stator winding, the stator winding produces a first rotating magnetic field and a second rotating magnetic field that has a different spatial frequency than the first rotating magnetic field. The first rotating magnetic field interacts asynchronously with the induction winding to produce an alternating current in the induction winding. The rectifier changes the alternating current to a direct current that is supplied to the field winding. The field winding interacts synchronously with the second rotating magnetic field.

ALTERNATING-CURRENT MOTOR

A plurality of slots are disposed in a stator iron core. A plurality of stator coils are formed into coils having a rectangular cross sectional shape. The stator coils are inserted into each of the slots in a double-layer winding system such that a lower coil is inserted on an interior side of one slot of the plurality of slots and an upper coil is inserted on an entry side of another slot of the plurality of slots. Each of the slots is provided with a space that enables the lower coil to be rotated on the interior side of the slot when the upper coil is lifted up from another slot.

A hybrid induction motor includes a fixed stator, an independently rotating first rotor, and a second rotor fixed to a motor shaft. The first rotor is designed to have a low moment of inertia and includes an inductive element which is either an eddy current ring or angularly spaced apart first bars, and also includes permanent magnets on a surface of the first rotor facing the second rotor. The second rotor includes angularly spaced apart second bars. The first rotor is initially accelerated by cooperation of a rotating stator magnetic field with the inductive element. As the first rotor accelerates towards synchronous RPM, a rotating magnetic field of the permanent magnets cooperate with the second bars of the second rotor to accelerate the second rotor. At near synchronous speed the rotating stator magnetic field reaches through the first rotor and into the second rotor coupling the two rotors for efficient permanent magnet operation.
