An electrodynamic assembly for propelling a spacecraft in orbit around a celestial body having a magnetic field is disclosed. The assembly includes a plurality of coaxial cables for an electrodynamic assembly for propelling a spacecraft in orbit around a celestial body having a magnetic field. Each coaxial cable includes an electrically conductive core surrounded by a first electrically insulating sheath, and an electrically conductive current return circuit mounted outside the first electrically insulating sheath. The current return circuit includes a first end electrically connected to a first end of the core of the coaxial cable.

The present disclosure provides a rotary electric machine including a housing, a stator, a rotor, an outer cover and a plurality of power cables. The stator is disposed in the housing and includes a stator core, a plurality of windings, a circuit board and a plurality of conductive pillars. The plurality of windings are wound around the stator core. The circuit board is fixed on the top of the stator core. The plurality of conductive pillars are electrically coupled with the circuit board. The rotor includes and an end cover. The end cover is disposed between the outer cover and the housing. The plurality of conductive pillars partially penetrate through a notch of the end cover, respectively. Two ends of each of the plurality of power cables are electrically coupled with the corresponding one of the plurality of conductive pillars and a connector, respectively.

The rotor may include: a rotor core formed of a second plurality of laminations having a second thickness of greater than approximately 0.10 inch and formed of high strength steel and sandwiched between a first end region including at least one first peripheral second lamination and a second end region including at least one second peripheral second lamination, the first end region having a first end ring retained by a first retaining ring adapted there around, the second end region having a second end ring retained by a second retaining ring adapted there around.

The system further has a network comprising first and second thermal conductor lines, each line comprising a cold end which is cooled by the cryogenic cooling sub-system, and an opposite hot end, whereby heat received by each line is normally conducted along the line in a direction from its hot end to its cold end.
