An Integrated Starter Generator System The present invention relates to an Integrated Starter Generator system (100) comprising a battery (110) and a three-phase brushless DC electric machine (130). The electric machine (130) has a stator (132) with 6n stator teeth (132′), ‘n’ being a natural number, and each stator tooth (132′) has a coil corresponding to one of the three phases. The electric machine (130) further has a rotor (134) with 6n±2 rotor poles (134′) facing the stator, and magnets on the rotor poles (134′) are disposed with an alternating sequence of magnet polarity facing the stator (132).

Device and method for operating an electric machine

The present invention provides a method and a device for operating an electric machine for a soft changeover from a normal or free-wheel mode to an active short-circuit. To this end, a voltage with which the electric machine is actuated is first reduced in a defined manner to a predefined, preferably very low value and then the phase connections of the electric machine are short-circuited. Excessively high overcurrents, particularly overcurrents greater than the nominal current of the electric machine, can thus be avoided.

Driving circuit for single phase motor and driving method for the same

A motor driving circuit for a single phase motor and a motor driving method for the same are provided. The motor driving circuit includes a motor driver, a Hall sensor, a Hall commutation detection circuit, a period recording circuit, a motor current detection circuit, a cut-off angle adjustment circuit, an angle calculation circuit and a control circuit. The motor current detection circuit detects a motor current value at a commutation point after the single phase motor operates normally. The cut-off angle adjustment circuit generates a cut-off angle adjustment signal indicating a cut-off adjustment angle according to the motor current value when the single phase motor passes the commutation point. The control circuit processes the commutation signal and the cut-off signal generated by the angle calculation circuit to generate a control signal group to control the motor driver to generate an output signal group to drive the motor.

An electric machine includes at least a printed circuit board and a magnetically permeable element. The printed circuit board includes a reluctance coil configured to generate a voltage in presence of a magnetic flux. The magnetically permeable element has a first end positioned adjacent to a rotor of the electrical machine and a second end positioned adjacent to the coil of the printed circuit board. In some examples, rotation of the rotor causes a change in the magnetic flux through the magnetically permeable element and generation of the voltage across the reluctance coil.
