Electric Motor Having Improved Cooling

An electric motor (1), in particular, an external rotor motor, has a stator (10) with a stator core (11), a non-rotatably attached shaft (20), that extends in the axial direction (A) of the motor, and a rotor bell (30), rotatably arranged relative to the non-rotatable shaft (20). The rotor bell (30) has cooling ribs in an open, spoke-like design rotatably mounted on the shaft (20) by at least one first stator-side bearing shield (31). A cooling device (40) is arranged between and connects the shaft (20) and the stator core (11). The cooling device (40) has a plurality of axial flow openings (41) arranged in the circumferential direction that causes cooling when the motor rotates during operation.

Electronically commutated DC motor

An EC motor with a stator and a rotor mounted to a shaft. The motor has a cooling system, an over molded stator housing, and an optimized rotor. The stator has teeth with wound electromagnetic coils. The teeth and coils are distributed circumferentially with gaps between adjacent coils. The stator is over molded with plastic that forms axially oriented cooling passages between adjacent coil sections. An impeller fan then draws air into the motor through air inlets connected to air passages. The impeller fan directs the air through the axially oriented cooling passages in the stator and out air outlets. An optimized internal rotor has permanent magnets and silicon steel laminates spaced circumferentially and extending outwardly from a central hub. Rectangular shaped magnets are interposed in the gaps between the laminates. Wedge-shaped magnets are aligned radially with the laminates and between the laminates and the hub.

An electric motor having internal closed loop cooling includes a cooling chamber coupled to the stator cover of the electric motor. A fan is positioned to circulate air through the interior of the electric motor and the cooling chamber. A heat sink in the cooling chamber removes heat from the circulating air. The heat sink may be coupled to a fluid cooling jacket to transfer heat thereto or therefrom.

A vehicle AC power generator includes a protection cover disposed at the rear side of a rear bracket included in a housing of the vehicle AC power generator, an attachment bolt that penetrates a through-hole formed in a bottom portion of a protection cover and is fixed to a portion at one axle-direction side of the housing, an output terminal bolt that extends from a rectifier, which rectifies AC electric power, toward the outside of one axle-direction side of the protection cover, and an insert coated conductor that is supported by the output terminal bolt and the attachment bolt and is provided at the rear surface of the protection cover.

The motor assembly also includes a stator fixedly coupled to the motor housing and positioned within the chamber. A rotor is coupled to at least one of the motor housing and the stator, wherein the rotor is configured to rotate about the axis and is positioned within the chamber. The motor assembly includes a fan having a first inlet side on a first axial side of the fan and a second inlet side on a second, opposing, axial side of the fan. The fan is configured to draw cooling air in a first direction through the at least one cooling opening into the first inlet side, and the fan is also configured to draw cooling air in a second, opposite direction into the second inlet side.

The casing includes a sleeve and inner core arranged coaxially with the sleeve and air guide plates connected to the sleeve and inner core, the sleeve, inner core and two adjacent air guide plates are surrounded to form an air guide channel, the inner core is provided with a mounting hole, the bearing is installed in the mounting hole, and a rotating shaft passes through the bearing, a magnetic ring is sleeved outside one end of the rotating shaft, the three-phase hollow cup coil winding is sleeved outside the magnetic ring. A rotating gap is set between the three-phase hollow cup coil winding and the magnetic ring, and insulating end cover is installed on the outlet of the sleeve. A wind end fixes the three-phase hollow cup coil winding in the sleeve, and the inner core is provided with heat dissipation holes that are all connected with installation holes.
