A motor control device includes a table in which a motor torque generated from a reluctance torque utilizing motor is stored with respect to a combination of an armature current command value and a current phase angle command value at which the motor torque is maximized for the armature current command value, a first setting portion that sets a motor torque command value that is a command value of a motor torque to be generated by the reluctance torque utilizing motor, and a second setting portion that sets, based on the table, an armature current command value and a current phase angle command value for making a motor torque that is in accordance with the motor torque command value set by the first setting portion be generated from the reluctance torque utilizing motor.
Switched reluctance self sensing active pulse torque compensation
A system and method for torque compensation in a switched reluctance (SR) machine disposed on a machine is disclosed. The system may comprise a SR machine, an inverter and a controller. The controller is in operable communication with the inverter and is configured to determine a commanded main current associated with energization by a main current of a first portion of the plurality of windings for a controlling phase, and determine a commanded parasitic current associated with energization by a parasitic current of a second portion of the windings in a non-controlling phase. The controller is further configured to determine an offset current based on the commanded parasitic current, and determine a target current based on a first sum of the commanded main current and the offset current, and command the inverter to actuate the target current in the first portion of the windings during the controlling phase.
SHIFT RANGE CONTROL APPARATUS
A control circuit controls driving of a motor to switch over a shift range. A target rotation speed setting part sets a target rotation speed of the motor. A rotation speed detection part detects a present rotation speed, which is an actual rotation speed, of the motor. A rotation speed error calculation part calculates a rotation speed error, which is an error between the target rotation speed and the present rotation speed. A request torque calculation part calculates a request torque for the motor based on the rotation speed error. A phase lead correction value calculation part calculates a phase lead correction value of a current supply phase relative to a rotation phase of a rotor of the motor based on the request torque.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OVERCOMING A DEAD-BAND IN A SWITCHED RELUCTANCE MOTOR
A work machine includes a frame, a traction system supporting the frame, a power source mounted on the frame, a switched reluctance motor, an inverter configured to control power to the motor from a power source, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a signal indicating a desired torque and determine if the desired torque is between an upper threshold and a lower threshold. If the desired torque is between the upper threshold and the lower threshold, pulse width modulation is used to produce a PWM adjusted torque command, and the motor is commanded based on the PWM adjusted torque command. The PWM adjusted torque command is configured to cycle between the upper threshold and the lower threshold to produce the desired torque.
Switched Reluctance Self Sensing Active Pulse Torque Compensation
A system and method for torque compensation in a switched reluctance (SR) machine disposed on a machine is disclosed. The system may comprise a SR machine, an inverter and a controller. The controller is in operable communication with the inverter and is configured to determine a commanded main current associated with energization by a main current of a first portion of the plurality of windings for a controlling phase, and determine a commanded parasitic current associated with energization by a parasitic current of a second portion of the windings in a non-controlling phase. System and method of overcoming a dead-band in a switched reluctance motor
A work machine includes a frame, a traction system supporting the frame, a power source mounted on the frame, a switched reluctance motor, an inverter configured to control power to the motor from a power source, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a signal indicating a desired torque and determine if the desired torque is between an upper threshold and a lower threshold. If the desired torque is between the upper threshold and the lower threshold, pulse width modulation is used to produce a PWM adjusted torque command, and the motor is commanded based on the PWM adjusted torque command. The PWM adjusted torque command is configured to cycle between the upper threshold and the lower threshold to produce the desired torque.
System for delivering and storing energy
A method of operating an electric or hybrid system comprising a synchronous reluctance electric motor coupled to an electric or hybrid powertrain is described herein. The method comprises determining (i) a torque demand required of the electric motor and (ii) a speed of rotation of the rotor of the electric motor, and storing kinetic energy in a rotor of the electric motor from the powertrain in response to at least one of (i) the determined torque demand falling below a selected torque demand threshold and (ii) the speed of the rotor being below a selected rotor speed threshold. The method further comprises operating the electric motor by powering the electric motor with electricity to deliver energy to the powertrain in response to at least one of: (i) the determined torque demand rising above a selected torque demand threshold and (ii) the speed of the rotor falling below a selected rotor speed threshold.
SYSTEM FOR DELIVERING AND STORING ENERGY
A method of operating an electric or hybrid system comprising a synchronous reluctance electric motor coupled to an electric or hybrid powertrain is described herein. The method comprises determining (i) a torque demand required of the electric motor and (ii) a speed of rotation of the rotor of the electric motor, and storing kinetic energy in a rotor of the electric motor from the powertrain in response to at least one of (i) the determined torque demand falling below a selected torque demand threshold and (ii) the speed of the rotor being below a selected rotor speed threshold. The method further comprises operating the electric motor by powering the electric motor with electricity to deliver energy to the powertrain in response to at least one of: (i) the determined torque demand rising above a selected torque demand threshold and (ii) the speed of the rotor falling below a selected rotor speed threshold.
AXIAL FLUX SWITCHED RELUCTANCE AND INDUCTANCE STATE MACHINE SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS
A state machine includes a stator assembly arranged to generate a rotating electromagnetic field in response to a control signal and a rotor assembly, positioned adjacent to the stator assembly, arranged to rotate in response to the rotating electromagnetic field. A sensor is arranged to detect an angular position of the rotor assembly and output sensor data based on the angular position of the rotor assembly. A controller is arranged to receive the sensor data and adjust the control signal based on the angular position of the rotor assembly to adjust a torque of associated with the rotor assembly when the state machine functions as a motor or to adjust a power output from the stator assembly when the state machine functions as a generator.
