ELECTRONIC CLUTCH FOR POWERED FASTENER DRIVER

Systems and methods for implementing an electronic clutch in a powered fastener driver. One fastener driver includes a motor, a trigger, a position sensor, a speed sensor, and a controller. The position sensor is configured to sense a position of the lifting assembly. The speed sensor is configured to sense a speed of the motor. The controller is configured to provide power to the motor. The controller is configured to receive speed signals from the speed sensor indicative of the speed of the motor, and determine whether the speed of the motor has dropped by a speed drop threshold within a first period of time. The controller is configured to activate an electronic clutch to electronically brake the motor for a second period of time. In response to the second period of time having passed, the controller is configured to provide power to the motor.

Sensor-less motor reversal apparatus

Described is a sensor-less motor reversal (“SLMR”) apparatus that aids the reversal of motor rotation of a bidirectional motor, such as a brushless DC motor of an aerial vehicle. The SLMR includes an RPM dependent clutch that is rotated by a drive shaft of the motor and that engages an engageable shaft of the SLMR apparatus during a low RPM range of the motor during which indirect measurement of the RPM of the motor through a back-EMF of the motor is unreliable. As the engageable shaft increases in RPM, energy is stored by an energy storage mechanism of the SLMR. As the RPM of the motor decreases as part of a motor reversal, the energy stored by the energy storage mechanism is discharged and aids in the transition of the reversal of the motor from positive to negative, or negative to positive. As described, the SLMR apparatus is stateless.

WASHING MACHINE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

A control method for a washing machine includes: a mode change step in which the configuration of a coupler is moved by operating a solenoid module in such a way that a drive shaft for spinning a pulsator and a dewatering shaft for spinning a washing tub are axially coupled or decoupled; and a mode check step in which a drive motor for rotating the drive shaft is operated and the load of current outputted to the drive motor is sensed, the mode check step comprising a coupler setting step in which, if the load of current outputted to the drive motor does not satisfy a set load value, the solenoid module is operated to reposition the coupler.

TECHNIQUE FOR DETECTING TWISTED MOTION OF ELECTRIC WORKING MACHINE

An electric working machine in one aspect of the present disclosure includes an output shaft, a motor, a housing, an acceleration detector, a twisted motion detector, a reference level changer, and a motor controller. The acceleration detector detects an acceleration of the housing in a circumferential direction of the output shaft. The twisted motion detector detects a twisted motion of the housing based on a reference level and the acceleration detected. The reference level determines that the housing is twisted. The reference level changer changes the reference level based on a rotating motion of the output shaft.

Vehicle drive control device

A vehicle drive control device that controls a vehicle drive device in which a first engagement device, a rotating electrical machine, and a second engagement device are provided in this order from an input side in a mechanical power transmission path connecting an input to an output, the input being drive-coupled to an internal combustion engine serving as a vehicle drive power source, and the output being drive-coupled to wheels, wherein each of the first engagement device and the second engagement device can be changed between an engaged state in which drive power is transmitted and a disengaged state in which drive power is not transmitted, the vehicle control device including an electronic control unit.

Overload protection assembly

An overload protection assembly includes a first gear of a servo, a second gear of the servo, defining a receiving space; and a clutch configured to coaxially couple the first gear to the second gear and transmit torque between the first gear and the second gear. The clutch includes an elastic member arranged around the first gear and received in the receiving space. The elastic member includes a number of protrusions at a circumferential surface thereof, and a number of recesses are defined in a lateral surface of the receiving space. The protrusions are used to be respectively engaged with corresponding ones of the recesses so as to couple the firs gear to the second gear when a value of the torque is less than a preset value, and disengageable from the corresponding ones of the recesses so as to disconnect the first gear.

A method is presented for operating a power tool during installation of a deformable fastener. The method includes: receiving measures of current supplied to a motor of the power tool during operation of the power tool; determining rate of change of the current during operation of the power tool; determining occurrence of the power tool engaging the fastener based on the magnitude of the current supplied to the motor; determining occurrence of the power tool swaging the fastener based on the rate of change of the current; determining completion of the power tool swaging the fastener based on the magnitude of the current and the rate of change of the current; and verifying quality of the installation of the fastener using the determination of the occurrence of the power tool engaging the fastener and the determination of the completion of the power tool swaging the fastener.

ESCROW CLUTCH PROTECTION

Disclosed are systems and methods for protecting an escrow clutch of a self-service terminal. The systems and methods may include actuating a motor of the self-service terminal to cause an escrow clutch of the self-service terminal to spin at a rate. As the clutch spins, a determination as to when a clutch slippage exceeds a preset slippage rate may be made. When the clutch slippage exceeds the preset slippage rate, the motor may be actuated to cause the escrow clutch to spin at a second rate. The second rate may less than the first rate.
