The disclosure presents a method and an amplifier system for minimizing variation in an acoustical signal caused by variation in gain of an amplifier, comprising a battery for providing a supply voltage to the amplifier, a digital signal processor for providing the acoustical signal to the amplifier, a controller unit receiving an enablement signal when the supply voltage is in an offset mode, and based on the enablement signal requesting a measured voltage during a time period, and a first analog-to-digital converter configured for measuring the supply voltage to the amplifier when receiving the request from the controller unit or the first analog-to-digital converter is configured for measuring the supply voltage to the amplifier continuously, and where variations in the measured voltage relates to variations in the supply voltage during the time period. Furthermore, the controller unit is configured to predict offset modes (i.e. changes) in the supply voltage based on the enablement signals and a fitting of the measured voltages, and wherein the controller unit is configured to generate a compensating signal based on the fitting and transmit the compensating signal to the digital signal processor, the digital signal processor is then configured to minimize variation in the acoustical signal at the output of the amplifier by compensating the variation in gain of the amplifier based on the compensating signal.

There is provided mechanisms for enabling linearization of a non-linear electronic device. A method is performed by a linearizer device. The method comprises receiving an input signal destined to be input to the non-linear electronic device. Input-output characteristics of the non-linear electronic device is represented by a model. The model is defined by a mathematical expression, and wherein input-output characteristics of the linearizer device is given by the linearization function. The linearization function is determined by applying a function recursion to the mathematical expression of the model. The method comprises obtaining an output signal by subjecting the input signal to the linearization function. The method comprises providing the output signal, instead of the input signal, as input to the non-linear electronic device, thereby enabling linearization of the non-linear electronic device.

The DPD circuit is configured to generate a digital intermediate signal by compensating an input signal for distortions resulting from an amplifier. The DPD circuit includes one or more an infinite impulse response (IIR) filters configured to implement a first transfer function based on a first parameter, and a second transfer function based on the first parameter and a time constant. The DPD circuit is configured to generate an adjustment signal based on the first transfer function and the second transfer function. The adaptation circuitry is configured to update the first parameter based on the adjustment signal, the input signal, and the output signal.

The set of compensation parameters may include a supply voltage of the RFPA and a transistor junction temperature of the RFPA. The systems may further generate, by performing a non-linear correction operation on the compensated radio frequency signal, a corrected radio frequency signal, which is transmitted to the RFPA.

The system includes a DPD circuitry configured to perform multi-band DPD on a multi-band input signal to compensate for a non-linearity of a non-linear system. The multi-band input signal includes input signals of multiple frequency bands and the DPD circuitry is configured to perform DPD on an input signal of each frequency band per frequency band. The DPD circuitry is configured to perform the DPD using a combination of a look-up table (LUT) that evaluates a non-linear function and computation of terms of a non-linear polynomial of one or more variables representing the input signals of multiple frequency bands. Both the non-linear function and the non-linear polynomial are in a reduced dimension lower than a dimension of the multi-band input signal.

The radio frequency power semiconductor device can further include a second non-linear filter network for compensating for broadband distortion. The second non-linear filter network can be connected in parallel to the first non-linear filter network. The broadband distortion can include digital predistortion and the narrowband distortion can include charge trapping effects. The first non-linear filter network can comprise Laguerre filters. The second non-linear filter network can comprise general memory polynomial filters.

The DPD actuator further includes a neural network-based actuator to perform a second DPD operation using a first neural network associated with a second nonlinear characteristic of the nonlinear component. The predistorted signal is based on a first output signal of the basis-function-based actuator and a second output signal of the neural network-based actuator.
