A chopper amplifier and method of operation are described. The chopper amplifier comprises a first chopper arranged to modulate an input signal using a first chopper signal having a chopper frequency. An amplification stage has an input arranged to receive the chopped signal and an output, and supplies an amplified signal at the output. An output chopper is arranged to integrate the amplified signal using a second chopper signal having the chopper frequency to generate an amplified output signal. The amplification stage is further configured to filter the chopped signal to attenuate signal components having frequencies lower than the chopper frequency.

An electronic circuit includes a differential output circuit that produces a differential output signal at a differential output. A primary winding of a balun has a first balun terminal coupled to a first differential output terminal, and a second balun terminal coupled to a second differential output terminal. A configurable harmonic reduction circuit includes first and second configurable shunt capacitance circuits coupled between the first differential output terminal or the second differential output terminal, respectively, and a ground reference node. A control circuit receives tuning data associated with a calibrated tuning state. The tuning data indicates a first and second calibrated capacitance values, which are unequal, for the first and second configurable shunt capacitance circuits, respectively. The control circuit controls the first configurable shunt capacitance circuit to have the first calibrated capacitance value, and controls the second configurable shunt capacitance circuit to have the second calibrated capacitance value.

Techniques for monitoring a distortion signal of a power amplifier circuit, where the output of a distortion monitoring circuit includes little or no fundamental signal and closely represents the actual distortion of the amplifier circuit of a wired communications system. The power amplifier circuit can generate a distortion feedback signal that does not affect the power amplifier's output power capability, e.g., no inherent loss in the fundamental output of the amplifier. That is, using a distortion monitor circuit, the power amplifier circuit can resolve a distortion feedback signal from the intended output signal of the output power amplifier circuit.
